I'm not sure what you mean with "playing aspect".

I just installed a fresh Debian system in a virtual machine to try these
triode plugins, because my FreeNAS machine with FreeBSD is not
compatible to Triode. But i think i can go back to official plugin
because i have only radio and touch.

There is no benefit.
The "playing" aspect is dealt with by Michael's Spotify Protocol Handler
which in essence is Triode's original code. It works with all types of
players not just Radio & Touch.
The navigation in Triode's version is broken by the changes in the API
at Spotify. The "official" plugin at MySB provides the navigation for
the Protocol Handler. Arguably the navigation is a bit limited but ...

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Benefit of Triode Spotify Plugins

2017-02-06 Thread mrMuppet

Hi,

i would like to know: what is the exact benefit of the Triode Plugins
versus the original Spotify Plugin?

- You can stream to the old machines like boom, receiver etc.
- You can use some Last.fm features
- "Family" alows to change the account for Spotify-family-accounts

But what else? I thought they would work as a "normal" Spotify -device,
with beeing listet at spotify and resuming and their played song listet
in the spotify history. But i didn't find any of these. And i don't find
my playlists, Songs or albums. (that worked with official
Spotify-Plugin). Mixtapes didn't work on both Plugins...
