Hi, Sorry for reviving an old thread, but maybe you guys can help me. I've just bought an IR emitter to try to set up IR blaster. I've got as far as having made it learn the codes from my remote, I seem to have set up it up the right way, but it doesn't work, even for the SB3 self-test. I bought this device: http://www.amazon.de/Marmitek-IR-Eye-2-fach-Infrarot-Emitter/dp/B000MBY1FC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8qid=1296168436sr=8-1 Is this the right thing to have got? Or is it incompatible? Where would I get a device that actually works? On your item # 1 above, the volume display will appear to change, but the volume will not actually change if you have set it to 100%. I may have resolved my issue; extension downloader does not work for IR blaster, at least for me. I played around and stuck in a variety of directories. I have the same problem with permissions on a mac osx 10.5. I don't think the set-up is fully compatible with 7.4 Maybe Felix will come to our rescue. Had a similar problem and fixed it. It's about where the remote files are located (I think). I'm not at home now and will not be for a week or so. I found my problem was trying to use an existing LIRC file someone posted for my remote. Today I used the learn mode to create raw codes for commands I needed, and everything is working great! Sorry I can't help with that problem, I want to add one of my own. I had IR blaster working well for many years, but changed to Windows 7. Re-loaded the plugin, and now under IR-learning I am asked for a device/file name and I put in stereo and it says that it cannot open file/device for writing. [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster setup issues
I'm trying to get the IR-Blaster Plugin working with my SB3 to control the volume on my Yamaha RX-V663 receiver. I read elsewhere I should be able to connect a cable directly from my SB3 output to the remote input on my receiver. I have installed the plugin on my server, added the configuration file for my receiver, connected the cable from SB3 to my receiver, and configured the plugin for SB3 as shown below. It appears that the plugin is communicating to the SB3, as the fixed volume value seems to get passed when I restart the server. The two problems I currently have: 1. When I press volume up and volume down on my remote, it still changes the SB3 volume level 2. When I try to press the test buttons for Volume Up and Volume Down settings, I don't see any response from my receiver.
