Any news on album art in the streams?
I never get any and they told me: "On some devices album art shows up,
others don't." Hmm, which devices?

Artist and title are no longer reversed, they fixed it some time ago.

I guess they've changed some things since you set up your account awhile
back and when mine was set up last week.

I sent them an email asking about metadata and a couple of other things,
and they are apparently just devoting their dev resources to getting
their new iOS app done.

I received a different expanded url for the streams when I started:

hxxps://audio-edge-8em5d.yyz.d.radiomast.io/d0105650-c51c-4842-ae39-f97b329acd2a?token=xxx

not:

hxxps://streams.radiomast.io/d0105650-c51c-4842-ae39-f97b329acd2a?no-icy-metadata=1token=xxx

That's why I got metatdata. But they changed to the new url without
metadata now, so you have to edit it to get them. Anyway, it works with
your hint, and more reliable as it seems to me.

The expanded URLs that their UI offers up to copy and use in LMS are of
the form:

hxxps://streams.radiomast.io/?no-icy-metadata=1=-xxx

If one edits it instead to be

hxxps://streams.radiomast.io/?icy-metadata=1=-xxx

Then there is metadata included in the stream.

I copied the complete url (not the shortened) from the JazzGroove site
into the favorite that already existed in my favorites menu. Only
replaced the existing url „http.“ and left the other data untouched.
Sometimes the metadata are absent at the start of the stream then start
again.

Unfortunately artist and title are reversed, and title shows also album
and year. I hope they will correct this in the future.

There is no album artwork at any stream at the moment, still beta. I
asked them and they said may change later.

As far as I can judge it is the same music on every quality variant. No
cut off, I think they generate a special stream for premium users,
because the stream is different from the one you get in your browser. No
more ads, but the Finest Jazz Announcer pops up for 5 seconds very
rarely, about once ervery 3 hours. That is ok for me.

Thank you so much, Ralphy.

It took me 15 minutes to get the stream again, now with a paid
subscription and without ads.

Made an account, paid the donation via Paypal, waited 5 minutes for the
donation to show up in My Account. Now I had a premium plan where you
can choose audio quality (64, 128, 256, flac) and from 5 channels. This
generates a special url for the choosen stream and your account. You
copy the url for your selection, paste it in favorites of LMS, restart
LMS and voila: great jazz with great quality.

Now I would want a selection menu for the 5 streams like Michael Herger
has made for Radio Paradise. Looking into it, but this is beyond my
capabilities I think.

How hard is it do a plugin?

How hard is it to rid a bike? Depends on where you want to go, and what
bike you have to get there. You can write a Hello World plugin within an
hour. But a music service which doesn't provide an API nor documentation
can be anything from a few hours to impossible.

It all depends how Jazz Groove have decided to implement it.
Someone with access to a premium account would have to look at what
happens in the interaction between the browser and the streaming service
and then try to emulate it ... and provide the audio data to the SB
player.
A bit like what was done with Radio Paradise for the extra streams.

How hard is it do a plugin?

I've interacted with these 2 people on LMS and Material skin...I wonder
if they would be able to take it on. Is there a way to tag them so they
see this thread?

Based on what they show on their sign-up page ... this would require a
plugin in LMS to make this work.

So anyone have any ideas how to pass user name/login via JazzGroove?

This can't be that hard, if the browser can play hi Rez after logging
in, surely SBT can be configured to pass that info as well can't it?

Really jonesing for this one.

Yeah the 128 sounds good on my SB3. The content is exceptionally well
curated, have not found Jazz channel I’ve liked nearly as well. Their
fund raising campaign is pretty heavy though right now. If I could get
cd quality on SB3, I’d gladly kick in for the premo subscription.

The 64k AAC streams are what I use ...

http://west-aac-64.streamthejazzgroove.com/stream

... and they sound pretty good to me.

No plugin, but there are direct links available for two of the streams
See
https://jazzgroove.org/listen?channel=mix1
for details.
The URL's are both MP3 128k:

http://east-mp3-128.streamthejazzgroove.com/stream

http://west-mp3-128.streamthejazzgroove.com/stream

Enter in Tune In URL under radio and can be saved to favorites. Not the
hi def streams, but a nice addition. Thanks for pointing this out

2019-11-30 Thread dmcdayton

I've been listening to The Jazz Groove 128K stream for about a year,
just discovered that they have subscription based hi Rez streams
available...its web protocols, browser only for now. Any of you
Squeezebox app gurus Jazz fans who could whip something up for my trusty
SB3 to get the higher bit rates?

Didn't see any hits on Jazz Groove, if there's something out there
already, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!
