Roon has the possibility to act as an LMS replacement, and probably also speaks to all those other devices. It's subscription-based however and IMO too costly for what it is: a glorified metadata presentation. Especially since the more seamless integration of online services and the development of Material Skin, the additional smarts of LMS compared to Roon make it come out on top. Yes but only if you also have LMS running. You use the Remote Libraries function inside LMS to access a dlna/upnp server. I know there are several LMS plug-ins that allow me to play music on non Squeezebox renderers. I use the ChromeCast plug-in all the time. My question is can I use any other media server (presumably DLNA/UPnP) to stream music to a Squeezebox.
