The effect is exactly has posted in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29845page=2 I am running Windows XP Pro SP2+ Outpost Firewall v4.0.971 - Slim.exe Mplayer.exe and socketwrapper.exe are all allowed internet access without restriction. Anit-virus is Symantec Corp 10.1.0.39 - not affecting slimserver or components. I have swapped the socketwrapper to the patched one and it has burst into life - BUT WHY - I have not changed any component on my machine since the plugin stopped and the only thing I have changed now is the socketwrapper.exe . This seems weird that it broke and this fixed it ? I attach the debug - loading slimserver, selecting Radio 4 and Radio 7 with no success via the AlienBBC plugin. The new version of socketwrapper is to bypass blocking by security s/w. It usually is the firewall, anti spyware or IM protection not AntiVirus that causes the problem. So the real question is why did you secruity s/w/ decide that socketwrapper was bad. What platform? For windows do you have slim.exe, socketwrapper.exe and mplayer.exe allowed to communicate in your AV/firewall software?
