I've managed to successfully enable WAP in my pCP, connect my Android to the Pi's Wi-Fi signal and control it from the pCP web interface and Squeeze Ctrl - although pCP never seems to remember the Bluetooth speaker that was last used, so there's a bit of delving about in the web interface to connect it again after a reboot. One question: 'this thread' (https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pc-based/275586-picoreplayer-picore-linux-raspberry-pi-squeezelite-post6326746.html) suggests LMS needs the time to be set. Looking at the code on the screen when booting the Pi in WAP mode, it shows it can't find the time - would this mean Scrobbling doesn't function when pCP is in WAP mode? Is there anyway to enable this? Was wondering if I somehow tethered the Pi to the phone, perhaps the phone's connection could supply the time - but can't see how this can be achieved if the phone has no external Wi-Fi of its own? For context, I'm going on a mini-cruise shortly, so there'll likely be no Wi-Fi or mobile data signal in the phone it could tether to, but I'd like to be able to use my pCP (in Flirc case) and 2TB HD as a portable music server and still be able to record its Scrobbles for uploading when it next has a "proper" Internet connection. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Ifi Zen Dac V2 no DSD with Squeezelite?
Okay then. After much playing and reading i have come to the conclusion the new and shiney is not always the way to go :( I have run the Zen DAC V2 on Windows, MacOS and Linux with a variety of results. Windows is best, MacOS is okay and poor Linux is the worst. This i think is purely down to it having the latest 16x XMOS chip. I have read reviews where Roon thinks it's a Technics device and i've read forums that iFi know they have to update the Firmware. From what i have read they will probably be writing a limoncello firmware for it (like they have for all the other devices in thier range). This tweaked DoP256 and sorted out clicking so it may sort out it's compatibility with Linux!? I only use the DSD format as thats what i ripped my SACD's to and i like to have playback as native as possible. Looks like this won't be the case and i will have to convert them again to 24bit/88.2kHz flac. I only have about 20 odd so no big deal. Just thought i would feed back my findings! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.fm scrobbling from LMS with no Internet
The scrobble includes the date / time that the track was played (rather than last.fm applying the current time to them and last.fm does not accept scribbles for lays that are more than a few weeks old and yours would probably be from 1970 if the time is not set. Maybe the pCP web interface could be extended to include a field for the user to enter the current date/time A shutdown script that saved the current time to a file and then used it to set the new time on boot when there is no internet would at least make the scribbles appear in an ascending recent time. So then you would be able to see what you listened to on holiday but not exactly when. Also with the Pu connected to the phone where the phone is acting as WAP then it should be possible to get the time by running the getTime.sh script So maybe a background script that checks every few minutes to see if the current date is less than 2021 then try to get the time if internet is up then exits. [SlimDevices: Plugins] ppc LMS does not scan
Hi all, I recently had to install a new router and reconfigure my network. Since that time I am having continuous problems with pcp. I am running pcp on a Pi and the music library is hosted on a Synology Diskstation. Mount points did not change. I have added the new pcp IP to the list of allowed clients for the shared folder and sometimes the scanning works but then again it just starts and stops with the entire process after a few seconds, pretending that everything is good and the scan complete. Only that it did not discover a single MP3. Any idea what is happening here and how to resolve it? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Picore - Squeezelite 32 bit length padding
hello I have a couple questions if someone more knowledgeable could help : regarding ALSA settings - sample format (f) --- is there a value so that the ALSA output is the same as the source input -- for example 16bit input = 16bit output and 24bit input = 24bit output without having to manually change format settings ? maybe related i read in some documentation that when using SOX, picore hands of the data to sox internally as 32bit --- does this mean that all source inputs to picore are padded up to 32bit internally, regardless whether using sox or not, and passed of to ALSA as 32bit ? if this is the case, can this be tweaked easily ? maybe inject some code through SSH to either use either source format, 24bit, or 32 bit ? then the same type of command for ALSA format --- use whatever format being passed to it ?
