This appears to be a local networking problem not directly related to the particular plugin. If pCP cannot resolve host names then not much will work outside of your LAN. Perhaps a reboot will cure it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Bliss DSTM mixer
Hi, with the current energy prices being what they are I've shut down my original server (Lenovo Dual Xenon P700 workstation) as it was solely responsible for around 30% of my total electricity consumption :eek: I've moved my home automation (Home Assistant) to a Pi 3 I had laying around, and moved my LMS to an UP Board (https://up-board.org/up/specifications/) using Daphile as it's the X86 equivalent of pCP. I've done a full new analysis on my laptop (Win11), copied the DB over to the LMS, all fine, but for some reason I don't get any mixes :confused: Relevant debug log entries using the 3 Bliss-related entries in "More": Code: [22-12-12 13:49:02.5377] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (342) BlissMix Track Seed /srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac [22-12-12 13:49:02.5382] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (384) Num tracks for BlissMix: 1 [22-12-12 13:49:02.5391] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getMixData (1059) Request {"norepalb":100,"norepart":100,"tracks":["USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac"],"shuffle":1,"max":0,"min":0,"count":20,"filterxmas":1,"previous":[],"filtergenre":0,"genregroups":[]} [22-12-12 13:49:02.5403] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_callApi (629) Call http://localhost:46059/api/mix [22-12-12 13:49:02.5717] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (634) Received API response [22-12-12 13:49:02.6138] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (753) Num tracks to use:1 [22-12-12 13:50:08.0310] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (342) BlissMix Track Seed /srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac [22-12-12 13:50:08.0316] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (384) Num tracks for BlissMix: 1 [22-12-12 13:50:08.0327] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getListData (1080) Request {"byartist":0,"count":50,"track":"USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac","genregroups":[],"min":0,"filtergenre":0,"max":0} [22-12-12 13:50:08.0338] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_callApi (629) Call http://localhost:46059/api/list [22-12-12 13:50:08.0463] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (634) Received API response [22-12-12 13:50:08.0475] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (753) Num tracks to use:0 [22-12-12 13:50:13.1739] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (342) BlissMix Track Seed /srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac [22-12-12 13:50:13.1752] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_cliCommand (384) Num tracks for BlissMix: 1 [22-12-12 13:50:13.1764] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getListData (1080) Request {"filtergenre":0,"max":0,"byartist":1,"count":50,"track":"USB Drives/UP_Music/Dire Straits/On the Night/10-Brothers In Arms.flac","genregroups":[],"min":0} [22-12-12 13:50:13.1775] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_callApi (629) Call http://localhost:46059/api/list [22-12-12 13:50:13.1876] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (634) Received API response [22-12-12 13:50:13.1888] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (753) Num tracks to use:0 Relevant Entries using DSTM: Code: [22-12-12 13:27:52.6609] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_dstmMix (893) Get tracks [22-12-12 13:27:52.6634] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getMixableProperties (447) Auto-mixing from random tracks in current playlist [22-12-12 13:27:52.6733] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_dstmMix (905) Seed /srv/mediaserver/music/USB Drives/UP_Music/Black Sabbath/Sabotage/03-Symptom Of The Universe.flac id:10212 [22-12-12 13:27:52.6741] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getPreviousTracks (998) Get last 200 tracks [22-12-12 13:27:52.6746] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_dstmMix (920) Num tracks to previous: 1 [22-12-12 13:27:52.6760] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_getMixData (1059) Request {"count":3,"min":0,"max":0,"shuffle":1,"norepalb":100,"tracks":["USB Drives/UP_Music/Black Sabbath/Sabotage/03-Symptom Of The Universe.flac"],"norepart":100,"genregroups":[],"filtergenre":0,"previous":["USB Drives/UP_Music/Black Sabbath/Sabotage/03-Symptom Of The Universe.flac"],"filterxmas":1} [22-12-12 13:27:52.6765] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_dstmMix (926) URL: http://localhost:46059/api/mix [22-12-12 13:27:52.8865] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::__ANON__ (930) Received API response [22-12-12 13:27:52.8871] Plugins::BlissMixer::Plugin::_mixFailed (988) Call through to LastMix Main System: Touch; Marantz SR-5004 + TMA Premium 905 + TMA Premium 901 + Teufel Ultima 20 Mk 2 + BK Monolith+ FF + Lenovo T460 + Kodi + Pioneer PDP-LX5090H Workshop: iPad 32GB Wifi + Squeezepad (local playback activated) Wherever needed: Acer Iconia Tab A700 + Squeezeplayer Kitchen: iPhone 5s + iPeng (local playback activated) + NAD 312 + Teufel Ultima 20 Mk 2 Headphone (cozy corner): Le

Hmmm.. I've alo posted this on the Chromecast Bridge forum. Oh and I was trying to update this plugin as Phillipe was uploading 2.1.8 to github. That gave some confusing results. Anyway. An suggestionms what I might try next woulod be very appreciated. LMS: Version: 8.3.0 - 1667251155 Hosted on dedicated Win 10 pro server (64 bit) MSV C++ 2022 installed. All firewalls, security and av disabled I uninstalled the old versions of the two plugins (via LMS), deleting prefs and configs. Then installed new versions (via LMS). Now have: Chromecast Bridge: 2.1.6 UPnP Bridge: 2.1.8 Issues same as all recent versions of both plugins. Starts and then stops and will not generate config files. I have no idea what to do now. :-( Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Lounge: Naim NDX with Touch as controller, Naim NAP 180, NAC 82, NAPSC, HiCap, Shahinian Arc speakers Kitchen/outside: Chromecast audio, Azatom iBigBoy 2 (500W) And... SB+, radios & tons of Chromecasts... all run from LMS and controlled via Material Skin on any nearby device and a couple of Touchs. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] A few words about bridges and my work in general
Thank you Philippe (along with many others) for everything you do. The point about the dev repository is spot on. We users are needed for use case testing, yet our expectations should not be that every dev release works flawlessly. If you contrast the work that is done here with a product (as @sle mentioned - sonos), the product has gone through extensive, systematic use case testing by many many people and automated test systems. So, you can expect more, but still bugs are uncovered. The last thing I wanted to add (while I have the floor :)) is that I have found people here on the forum to be very cordial and respectful, even when I ask/say something dumb. They don't even say "That's dumb" :) People go out of their way to not only help, but to actually build a test system to try to replicate what the poster is seeing. Bravo. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] A few words about bridges and my work in general
I concur with all of the above. I think it is fair to say that the uPnP/DLNA Bridge is unique and many people simply don't realise what a buggers muddle the underlying protocol is and the multitude of different devices and implementations that Philippe has to code for. Personally I try to stay clear as much as possible even though I have a number of devices that could be made to work with LMS via the bridge. It strikes me that even though Philippe has coded for "known working hardware" profiles there are relatively few devices in the list and that is down to us users for not sending them in! Philippe cannot be expected to own every conceivable piece of uPnP hardware! We as a user group should take note of what has happened recently and make sure we assist by either volunteering dev status or by providing proper details of our working systems with a note stating which version of the bridge they work against. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay, Chromecast and UPnP bridges update
Good Mornings all - installed 2.1.8 via LMS with no problems on Win 10 i7 laptop, LMS 8.3. I reported yesterday that the installation of the MS C++ redistributable after using 2.1.6 caused my UPnP players to disappear from LMS. They also did not appear this morning after starting up the laptop and installing 2.1.8 - but upon checking the Bridge settings, i noted the Bridge was turned off - (i.e. "Running" box unchecked) That was unusual - it is always running when i open its settings (which i have done a lot lately!) When i turned the Bridge on, the UPnP players reappeared in LMS. After that, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MS C++ redistributable app to see if it would make the players disappear again, but my UPnP players continued to show up in LMS. Will give the (now dreaded) Boss Hog test tracks another spin in a little while. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Beta 0.0.30j - 2022/12/12 - Add RPR1.de - artist, title and their cover art - 47 stations This is another group of stations from audiotainment (mentioned in previous post). They also have timestamps that are off by about 1 minute ... so this time I have disabled checking of the timestamp for all of the "jukebox" stations. I do still check it for the "live" stations (the ones with the name of a city in their station name) because otherwise it would result in the track details for the previous song being shown through a lengthy news item ... but it also means that as long as their timing is wrong then the display of the track will also be wrong. Currently this means that the info is removed about 1 minute before the end of the track. If you are a regular listener to their stations and you find this annoying then watch what happens from their own web site and then ask them to fix it if you see and hear the same issue there. I've done a full new analysis on my laptop (Win11), > copied the DB over to the LMS, all fine, but for some reason I don't get > any mixes :confused: Don't think you would needed to have run a re-analysis, bliss only stores relative paths. e.g. If you have "c:\MyMusic\LMS\Artist\Album\Track.mp3" and bliss-analyser is configured to find music in "C:\MyMusic\LMS" then it will only store "Artist/Album/Track.mp3" in the DB. When the mixer runs it first removes your LMS music paths (as configured in LMS's server settings) and sends the relative part - e.g if LMS was on a Pi4 with music path "/var/lib/music" then "/var/lib/music/Artist/Album/Track.mp3" is converted to "Artist/Album/Track.mp3" - which matches the path in the DB. Basically, you probably need to check the paths used for analysis and the paths LMS is configured for - and see if they can see the same sub-paths within. You can use (e.g.) SQLiteBrowser to see what paths are stored in the DB. *Material debug:* 1. I don't have Tidal, so not 100% sure as to what's going on. AFAIK, Tidal is a mysqueezebox.com app? If so, when listing these apps LMS (for some unknown reason) gives then an id prefixed with some random hex - e.g. "a0f45eaa.tidal" But this id can, and does, change so Material coverts this to "myapps.tidal" And it is this converted id that is pinned. Philippe, First, I want to thank you for all your hard work on developing products that support the LMS/squeezebox system. Of course, it is not just you but there are many others that volunteer their own time to contribute. You have every right to be annoyed when someone complains in the manner you have described. This community will respond in a polite manner to a question that has been asked before without a snarky response of “did you search for ‘x’”. I am amazed how quickly, and the enormous effort people, will take to help a person resolve a problem that might be unique to that person’s equipment and set-up. All I can say is, there are a lot of people on this forum that truly appreciate your effort, so please do not let the rude minority get to you. :) Paul P Nelson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58158 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117217 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The players are constantly losing connection and re-opening it, all the time. Most of the times, it can catchup where streaming was left, but it will always fail at some point. Have you done a full reboot of the machine where LMS run and made sure that no other instances of the bridge run? Philippe, the entire LMS community owes you a debt of gratitude (in lieu of cash ;)) for all the time and effort you have contributed in keeping this great open source experiment not only alive but thriving. And it's not just the multitude of useful plugins that we use every day, or even the numerous LMS bug fixes and enhancements seen only by those of us who read git commit logs for relaxation --- it's also the helpfulness and patience you display with users and fellow developers alike here on the forums. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay, Chromecast and UPnP bridges update
Hi Philippe - here is the log from an attempt at playing the same mp3 tracks with 2.1.10 (Win 10 i7 laptop - all UpNP Bridge settings at default other than binary set to static.) This version was not the fix - the tracks would start playing but there was weird distortion in each track partway through, and each track skipped to the next track without playing even half the song. I stopped the madness in track 5 ;) I don't pretend to know what the typical musical content of the universe of UpNPBridge owners is, but if you think mp3 content is not a priority for most people, i would not be offended if you focus your valuable dev efforts on other aspects - the vast majority of my listening is streaming services anyway, with the old mp3 and flac files on my laptop just being an occasional diversion. I appreciate all your efforts to date! +---+ |Filename: upnpbridge log 11 mp3 2.1.10.zip| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39400| +---+ Spacegrass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68163 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116980 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Immediately after updating to v2.1.10, my Radio Paradise streaming FLAC playback began failing consistently. LMS 8.4.0 Dec 4 build. The first error occurred exactly 1:30 after beginning playback. The second and third were at 1:25 and the fourth at 2:03. Only the first two are shown in the log.
