Re: poe.perl.org down?
Thanks for letting me know. Slicehost tells me that the physical server hosing poe.perl.org's VPS is failing, and they are moving my VPS to a new machine: The server hosting your slice is showing signs of imminent hardware failure, as a precautionary measure we will be moving all slices off of this server shortly. I've sent them support mail asking how long the site will be down. -- Rocco Caputo - rcap...@pobox.com On Jul 20, 2009, at 10:46, jorge sanchez wrote: Oops, missed the list.. the poe.perl.org site seems to be down again... 22 hours later it's still up. :) Thanks, Rocco! -- Larry On Wed, Jul 15, 2009 at 12:08 PM, Rocco Caputo wrote: > Out of memory again. I've rebooted and reconfigured Apache a little. > Sorry for the inconvenience.

Out of memory again. I've rebooted and reconfigured Apache a little. As of 7:50am Eastern time, I can't get it from home or work. Home ISP is rr.com; dunno 'bout at work. I can resolve the IP address but the browser (Opera, if it matters) just hangs. It doesn't even time out, as near as I can tell. Yesterday I switched back to the browser and it'd been trying to get to poe.perl.org for over an hour. -- Larry
Re: poe.perl.org down?
The virtual machine it was hosted on went into swap death. The logs are quite full, but they don't really say why this happened. I suspect I need to reduce Apache's resource limits. Some site news while we're talking about it: New CSS. The central column will stretch if you open the window wider. There are experimental RSS feeds for major changes, and all changes. I'm going to tweak the save form later to discourage making all changes "major". Also to encourage meaningful change messages. I'm sure there are bugs. Please keep up the feedback. :) -- Rocco Caputo - rcap...@pobox.com On Jul 14, 2009, at 17:33, Larry Clapp wrote: I can't get poe.perl.org to talk to me. Anyone know why? -- Larry
