Update: productivity/douf00
Hey, This is the douf00 port updated to version 3.0.3. The errors in the manpage reported by mdoc are now fixed, so the need for USE_GROFF should now be gone. I have tested with mandoc -Tascii -mdoc -Wall douf00.1 and no warnings or errors are emitted. What is the preferred way for testing mandoc compatibility? Ok? Re: emacs 23.2 (the return)
Hi Manuel, thanks a lot for your effort! I had just compiled and installed the athena FLAVOR of your older port today morning, but now I use GTK. On GENERIC i386, emacs (GTK) hangs when starting the ediff mode. What was the culprit when emacs started? Perhaps it is similar here. I will test if this happens on athena FLAVOR later. regards Matthias
archivers/unrar: versioning?
Unrar 4.00 is out, but before I propose an update, we need to make up our mind how to deal with unrar's versioning. The crux of the matter is that the official version number of unrar, as recorded in version.hpp, is different from the numbering of the distfile. This appears to be deliberate upstream policy and not a case of accidental omission. And it causes no end of confusion. (The FreeBSD port is at EPOCH=5...) The port currently uses the 4.0.2 distfile. This corresponds to a 4.00 beta 2 version: #define RARVER_MAJOR 4 #define RARVER_MINOR 0 #define RARVER_BETA 2 #define RARVER_DAY 26 #define RARVER_MONTH11 #define RARVER_YEAR 2010 There were a number of further betas with 4.0.x distfiles, and now there is an official 4.00 release with a 4.0.7 distfile: #define RARVER_MAJOR 4 #define RARVER_MINOR 0 #define RARVER_BETA 0 #define RARVER_DAY 2 #define RARVER_MONTH 3 #define RARVER_YEAR 2011 It comes down to this: For the PKGNAME, do we want to use the official version number (also displayed in the banner when running unrar) or the one of the distfile? I'm mildly in favor of the official numbering, but whatever we decide on, I'll make sure to add sufficient commentary to the Makefile so people can stick to one policy in the future. -- Christian naddy Weisgerber na...@mips.inka.de

Maybe it would make sense to @comment the conflicting files, and install the others by default in the main poppler package (I see no reason for a separate multi_package here) but it's up to kili@ really. That's the way to go. And since Alexis asked me in private mail wether poppler should be updated first: I will work on a poppler update when I've some more time (in about two weeks i hope), so adding the new utils that don't conflict with xpdf-utils should be done first. Ports depending on cmake
Hi, every once in a while, a port of VTK (http://www.vtk.org) is popping up for OpenBSD and vanishing again sooner or later. VTK is a library for 3D visualization and data processing. I intend to use VTK also on OpenBSD, thus I prepared a new basic version of this port recently: http://www.neuronenwerk.de/files/vtk.tgz However things aren't that easy, since VTK requires the use of cmake. I had a look at some ports that need cmake for Makefile generation in the tree and found no specific approach on handling configuration options besides the patching of CMakeLists. Will there be anything like CMAKE variables or the like in OpenBSD somewhen or is the current state regarded sufficient for now? If so, what's considered the most clean way to handle the configuration of cmake-dependent ports (in particular in combination with FLAVORS)? Thanks in advance, /Markus
[new] gtk+3-3.0.2
GTK+ is a multi-platform toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces. Offering a complete set of widgets, GTK+ is suitable for projects ranging from small one-off projects to complete application suites. This port can co-exist without any issue with gtk+2. It passes all regress tests and gtk3-demo seems happy so far with all widgets. I'd appreciate as much testings as possible on all arches (don't mind the Failed to load module ... messages, these are normal since we only have these modules for gtk+2 for now). Thanks. -- Antoine gtk+3.tgz Description: Binary data

Re: emacs 23.2 (the return)
I've just tested M-x ediff a couple of time without issue. Could you retry it with emacs -Q ? I tested emacs and emacs -Q on both stumpwm (tiling WM) and fvwm. It hangs every after I choose file A and B when it tries to open the Ediff window. ediff mode in athena FLAVOR works without problems on both WMs regards Matthias

Re: emacs 23.2 (the return)
Just tested the athena flavor, works fine over here, tested ediff also, everything seems fine. -- Christiano Farina HAESBAERT Do NOT send me html mail.

I noticed that make port-lib-depends-check says that the X11-xcb WANTLIB is extraneous. Also, is it correct that bin/emacs and bin/emacs-${VERSION} aren't marked as @bin in pkg/PLIST-main? It seems to be because the executables are installed with the sticky bit.
[update] py-django 1.2.5
Hi, Attached is the diff to bring py-django to 1.2.5. Mildly tested on i386 via django's built in unit tests FYI - This diff removes all the security patches that were added in 1.2.4p0 because this release includes them. So patch -E is needed. Please test and let me know if there are any problems. If this diff is acceptable, can someone please commit? Thanks, Ryan py-django125.diff Description: Binary data
