   Hi!

   I've finally got around a problem when using UTF-8 encoding and mutt +
   vim. Here is the solution; if you think it's worth including, then
   please do it.

  Things work perfectly for me without any of these settings in .vimrc.

  How are you setting your locale and what terminal/fonts are you using?
 LANG='hu_HU'
 LC_CTYPE='en_US.UTF-8'
 LC_TIME='hu_HU'
 LC_COLLATE='hu_HU'
 LC_MONETARY='hu_HU'
 LC_MESSAGES='en_US.UTF-8'
 LC_PAPER='hu_HU'

Why are you mixing en_US and hu_HU?

The only category that has an effect for libc is LC_CTYPE.
The others are ignored by libc.
From setlocale(3):
  BUGS
   The current implementation supports only the C and POSIX locales for
   all but the LC_CTYPE locale.

However, some applications (and gettext) might peek at LANG which is treated
like LC_ALL. If LANG and LC_ALL aren't set apps may look at LC_MESSAGES.

So try this:
  LC_CTYPE=hu_HU.UTF-8
  LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8
  LC_MESSAGES==hu_HU.UTF-8

Though setting just LANG should suffice.
The other LC_ variables have no effect on OpenBSD.

The hu_HU.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE locale is available by default in 4.9.
It's trivial to add it to 4.8 systems:
  mkdir /usr/share/locale/hu_HU.UTF-8
  ln /usr/share/locale/en_US.UTF-8/LC_CTYPE /usr/share/locale/hu_HU.UTF-8/

  I've attached my .vimrc for reference. Does it work for you?
 Yes :/
 I'm confused.

Maybe it's because of 'set nocompatible'?

Hi,
The attached patch updates feh to its latest version, 1.13.

Stuart, the problems you encountered seem to have been fixed, I've

 The hu_HU.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE locale is available by default in 4.9.

Yes, I had mixed it with set compatible.

Lightly tested on amd64.

Display-brightness is not working, the screen is very dark by default.

I experience sound stuttering when aucat is on. Tried default buffer size and
-b 2048.

Same thing with the 0.8.1p1 though.

 Hi,
 The attached patch updates feh to its latest version, 1.13.

 Stuart, the problems you encountered seem to have been fixed, I've
 tested it on both amd64 and sparc64 with various locale settings.

 I've also taken maintainership, because sa...@legonet.org never
 answered to my emails and I'm now considering him as M.I.A.

 homepage and master_site have changed too.

Forgot to say the most important change :)
It now uses libcurl instead of depending on wget or ftp.

Ciao,
David

 Hi!

 Ray Lai has passed over the maintainership to me for this port.
 Here is an update for it to the new version. The flavor got removed,
 because there is no such patch anymore, it uses GNU makefile, and the
 license has changed too.

Have you tried the update:

terminus-font-4.30-symquotes.tgz - terminus-font-4.32.tgz

using pkg_add -ui ?

If that works, then it's ok with me.

Ciao,
David

 +USE_GMAKE =  Yes

Don't list gmake as BUILD_DEPENDS, USE_GMAKE does this.
I'd prefer to patch the Makefile to work with BSD make though.

 -.if ${FLAVOR:L:Msymquotes}
 -DISTFILES+=  ${DISTNAME}-gq2.diff.gz

this is now a separate file in the tarball (alt/gq2.diff).

 +@pkgpath x11/terminus-font

that's wrong, you would need to specify the flavour you are replacing
here. but see above, this variant still exists, so I think we should
keep the flavour.

 -@fontdir lib/X11/fonts/terminus/
 +lib/X11/fonts/terminus/

this should keep the @fontdir marker.

btw 4.34 is out now.
