Purpose of this icon theme is to extend the base icon theme that follows
the Tango style guidelines for specific purposes. This would include

Icons follow the naming specification, but have a -symbolic suffix, so
only applications specifically looking up these symbolic icons will
render them. If a -symbolic icon is missing, the app will fall back to

These packages build ok in bulk builds, so I think this is probably a local
problem.

The same. -mips4 is not a tweak. This is an indication to
the compiler to use the additional CPU instruction set and resulting
software will work with fpu more effectively and faster.

Similar to things like -march=k8 on amd64/i386. It's not tested and supported
(it may work but you're responsible for tracking down problems that occur as a
result).

You can also make your machine work more effectively by using packages rather
than building from ports, this saves a huge amount of cpu _and_ human time...

Re: gettext and Imagemagick packaging errors

2011-05-13 Thread Val Niamkovic
I installed gettext and Imagemagick from packages immediately once
confronted with this errors. Before that I didn't use packages. It's
just a habit and also an opportunity to get a 20% performance on some
tasks (openvpn + lzo in my case). This is the standard compiler
option, and does not affect the stability of the system. I've compiled
about two dozen programs on OpenBSD ( and IRIX before ) with this
option and never experienced problems in the compiling or stability.
Again, I repeat, it is not aggressive optimization that modifies the
intermediate code, such as the unrolling of loops, for example, that
may affect the stability or stop the compiling due error at all. In
any case, with -mips or not something is going wrong. I'm trying to
find out the reason. I devote a couple of hours reading the
documentation of creating port scripts, of course. I just thought that
more familar with ports people will help me to more specifically
isolate the problem. I will be grateful for any help.

Best Regards, Val, hist...@gmail.com

2011/5/13 Amit Kulkarni amitk...@gmail.com:
Yes, I've installed gettext and ImageMagick from packages, but it

then why you install from ports? ports and packages is supposed to be same.

 do a make clean

 pkg_info | grep gettext

If gettext is already installed and exists as a package in
/usr/ports/packages/SGI-MIPS64/all etc...? It will clash, see if you
can afford to pkg_delete and use ports to install gettext/Imagemagick.

Look here for more info about ports

Yes they do need to be updated; py-qt 4.8.4, py-sip 4.12.2, and as
Landry points out you do need to check users of py-sip/pyqt because
the riverbank people break API almost every release.

Since the only meaningful change is support for blacklisting of fraudulent

Last pyqt release notes say added support for Qt v4.7.2 so we
probably do need it.

PS I have mirrored the pyqt and sip distfiles so if anyone wants to
update the port they'll be available on the second-choice MASTER_SITES.

No, it usually means the new features are not supported in the version we

2011-05-13 Thread Stuart Henderson

So, heres the finished pdftk port.

One last thing I'm uncertain about is whether to specify -O2 in GCJFLAGS
or rather not do so. Compile time gets about factor 10x slower, but
binary size is reduced from ~8M to ~3.5M.

Here's a diff on top. I'm using the system definitions for some of
the variables and defaulting GCJFLAGS to CXXFLAGS and picking up opt
values that way. Also added WANTLIB.

Systrace problem doesn't affect the build and also affects classpath
so should probably be looked at in the gcc port and/or module sometime,
that's not a showstopper.

But we need a change to gcc4.port.mk so the LIB_DEPENDS for the gcj
lib can be added in the module rather than hardcoded in the ports using
it (I've done that temporarily here but it's wrong). So I'll send a
new tar.gz after I've looked at that.

RECUERDA,

Durango, Quintana Roo, etc.

Fwiw id be very happy to have that in ports, so i'll ok it gladly :)
