removing sysutils/heartbeat
Hi, is somebody using sysutils/heartbeat? The version in ports is old, and with the new gnutls update, even broken. I cant' remember getting any requests/complaints about it, so I wonder if someone is out there, using it at all. I maintain it, but don't use it anymore since years, so would better get rid of it, than wasting time on fixing it. If nobody speaks up, it will be moved to the attic instead of fixing it. Sebastian

New: audio/opus
There's work underway on an IETF-standardized audio codec: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-codec-opus-16 Here's a port for the preliminary reference implementation, opus-0.9.14. The Opus codec is designed to handle a wide range of interactive audio applications, including Voice over IP, videoconferencing, in-game chat, and even remote live music performances. It can scale from low bit-rate narrowband speech to very high quality stereo music. http://opus-codec.org/ If you want to test it, there's a little program opus_demo in the build directory. Works on i386 and sparc64 and with each other's output. I have NOT checked fixed point mode, on arm or elsewhere. I'm not sure if we want to import this now or wait for the 1.0 release that will coincide with the publication of the RFC. -- Christian naddy Weisgerber na...@mips.inka.de opus-201207090.tgz Description: application/gtar-compressed
FIX: ocamlfind native compilation
Hi, I noticed last week that native compilation is busted in ocaml when you use ocamlfind. I just spotted the problem and I see that Chris Zimmerman spotted it too in a previous email. Re: New: audio/opus and audio/opus-tools
Christian Weisgerber: There's work underway on an IETF-standardized audio codec: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-codec-opus-16 Here's a port for the preliminary reference implementation, opus-0.9.14.
