Re: [update] py-sphinx
hmm, on Sun, Feb 02, 2014 at 12:08:24PM +, Stuart Henderson said that dependencies need checking to make sure that this doesn't change the generated files, as has happened in the past with some (but not all) deps after a previous py-sphinx update - realistically I think this should wait until after we're done with 5.5 release. no problem, i can wait. meanwhile the other porters could try and regenerate their docs with this version. i am using this new sphinx for updating/creating some ports and files/filenames did not change in the generated docs as far as i can tell. -f -- if code was meant to be portable, it'd have wheels...
Re: [update] py-sphinx
hmm, on Sun, Feb 02, 2014 at 11:05:51PM +0100, Juan Francisco Cantero Hurtado said that The latex support in sphinx is important, so remove texmf from test deps is not a good idea. frantisek, I know texmf is really big but you only need download the distfile one time per year. this is not about latex support in sphinx. some sphinx _tests_ use texmf, it's for sphix developers to make sure they dont break something when they make changes to the latex support. -f -- drinking kills brain cells, but just the weak ones...

Transcript written on test1a.log. What is a good way to tell TexLive to expecct Latin2 as before? Or do I need to say that in every file? Or do I need to have my files in UTF? Jan I think you really should be asking this elsewhere. This very much looks like some tex package or compiler changed its behaviour and you'll need to take some extra steps to make it work. I think in a project the size of TeXLive its unrealistic to expect the port maintainer to do more than make sure things get properly unpacked and installed, but I'll leave that for the maintainer to clarify. In the meantime you might check the docs on CTAN or tex.stackexchange.com, maybe something will turn up... That being said, in the past I've had to get some packages directly from CTAN and install them on my local ~/texmf, since the version packed in TeXLive had some bugs that had been corrected in the meantime. Answering more directly to your question, the only way I know of specifying encodings on TeX is using the 'inputenc' packages (e.g. \usepackage[latin2]{inputenc} on the document's preamble). And you can always use iconv to convert the tex files (e.g. iconv -f latin2 -t UTF-8 test1a.tex test1a_utf8.tex). Personally, I just switched to xelatex, started using UTF-8 for everything and never looked back. Cheers Zé

Yes, things look better, really good in fact. I'm not a heavy user of kde4 yet but it feels real already, such that people will be able to use it in 5.5. Basically it's talking about a tap interface which has been passed via a file descriptor. If you want more than one of those, you need to override sudo's default, which is to close FDs higher than 3. -C fd Normally, sudo will close all open file descriptors other than standard input, standard output and standard error. The -C (close from) option allows the user to specify a starting point above the standard error (file descriptor three). Values less than three are not permitted. This option is only available when the administrator has enabled the closefrom_override option in sudoers(5). I made my qemu VM work with multiple ifaces with following command, each VM's iface has its own tun(4) device on the OpenBSD host. $ sudo sh -c sudo -C 5 -u jirib qemu-system-x86_64 -net nic,model=virtio,vlan=0 \ -net tap,vlan=0,fd=3 -net nic,vlan=1,model=virtio -net tap,vlan=1,fd=4 \ -no-fd-bootchk -drive file=~/tmp/qemu/virtual.img,if=virtio,format=qcow2 \ -drive file=~/downloads/install55.iso,if=scsi,media=cdrom \ -boot order=cd,once=d 3/dev/tun0 4/dev/tun1 Am I doing multi-nic qemu VM correctly? jirib looks right. does it work?

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my email. We use the regression tests in the packages to test if everything works correctly. These are also used when someone update some problematic dependency. If some test requires latex, the dependency is mandatory. If you read the CVS log, I was the user who requested the change to add latex to the test deps :) -- Juan Francisco Cantero Hurtado http://juanfra.info
