Re: texlive - context broken?

Hello,

yes, I had seen the page but, since it's referred to OpenBSD 3.8--4.2,
and I do not find teTex_base, I thought it was outdated.

Will you update the page? That would be very nice. I am itching to
stick to this laptop and forget about the linux one.

thanks,

texlive comes with an ancient ConTeXt.
if you dont use anything else, but context,
you are better off with the old teTeX and
upgrading the components by hand.  it's not hard at all.

if everything goes nice, there will be a context minimal

Hello,

I have been using ConTeXt for a while but now I am running into a problem.

I have tried the same on a different box, with a different OS. It is
running fine

The OpenBSD box is:

hux(p1)| texexec -v
TeXExec | version 6.2.0 - 1997-2006 - PRAGMA ADE/POD

hux(p1)| ruby -v
ruby 1.8.6 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 287) [i386-openbsd4.5]

The other OS's linux is:

[...@hux tmp]$ texexec -v
TeXExec | version 6.2.0 - 1997-2006 - PRAGMA ADE/POD

[...@hux tmp]$ ruby -v
ruby 1.8.6 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 287) [i386-linux]

Any hint?

I am not sure about previous obsd releases (4.4, 4.3 etc), but I think
I didn't have the problem before

I would prefer to do everything on the OpenBSD machine. Any help will
be appreciated

Thanks
Pau

There is a missing build dependency.
You need to install python-tkinter to build matplotlib.

openoffice3 and gcc4.2 and opera flash

2009-04-24 Thread Pau
Hello,

I have OpenBSD 4.5 installed on i386 from scratch from the CDs.

I remember reading that openoffice would only be in ports in the 3
release... and I do see 2.4.2 there (probably I remember bad), which
is the version I compiled, because openoffice3 was breaking. The last
headache it was giving me was that it needed gcc4.2 and when compiling
it the C compiler said it could not create executables.

Regarding opera: The flash plugin can show youtube videos but the
audio is not working: I can hear the movies but much faster. Feels
like a vinyl played at 45 rpm.

Somebody else with the same problem?

Pau

obsd43 building opera

2008-09-19 Thread Pau
Hi,

I am trying to install opera on i386 with

cd /usr/ports/www/opera
make install clean=depends distclean

It breaks. I have built it in the past on the same laptop but with
obsd42. I attach in the bottom the make messages.

I have also seen things of this kind when installing big packages with pkg_add:

system(/bin/sh, -c, /usr/local/bin/update-mime-database
/usr/local/share/mime) failed: 35584
system(/bin/sh, -c, /usr/local/bin/update-desktop-database) failed: 35584

With big packages I mean: evince, gnome, scribus etc... I am trying
to set up a laptop for my wife with openbsd and she doesn't seem to be
itching to learn the things I use (vi, fvwm, tex etc). update-* give
troubles.

Do also note that running
/usr/local/sbin/cups-enable/usr/local/sbin/cups-disable, as suggested
by the scribus installation breaks.

The error messages are attached at the very bottom, after the opera messages

Sorry for the huge files

Re: bug with boehm-gc ?

2007-10-29 Thread Pau Amaro-Seoane
Hi,

today I installed inkscape but when it comes time to make package
(part of make install)
there was a cascade of error messages about file does not exist.

This occured to me.

the fix was to go into /usr/ports/graphics/inkscape/pkg
and edit the PLIST file.

%s/\${BASE_PKGPATH}/inkscape/g

fixed it. It could then make the package and presumably install.

Cheers,

Pau

The function GC_find_limit_openbsd() intentionally segfaults to find the
bounds of accessable memory. This is not what's causing your 'assertion
failed' error. To get past the GC_find_limit_openbsd() just continue the
app - you may get more then one in GC_find_limit_openbsd().

Hi,

1- I am not a porter
2- I think I untarred it in the right category; at least I did go in:

the fix was to go into /usr/ports/graphics/inkscape/pkg
  and edit the PLIST file.

as I wrote.

But maybe I am just messing everything. Forget my email.

This is a typical symptom of when one creates/untars ports directly in
mystuff/ instead of mystuff/$CATEGORY/.. please porters, work in
 mystuff/$CATEGORY/$MYPORT for new submissions.
You could have run make update-plist too.

thanks for the work done at ports.

Hi,

I am running current... I applied the patch and the output looked
fine; then I tried to install the port and... Please note that I am a

hint of what have I screwed up?

Benoit, are you going to take over maintainership of this?

ok for me. Main problem is lack of stable releases of wmii, they
only provide snapshots these days. Is this ok for ports ?
if projects done have a normal release cycle, like in this case, sure.

sam2p

2007-03-01 Thread pau
Is there any chance that sam2p will be added to ports? Is anybody working
on that?
http://www.inf.bme.hu/~pts/sam2p/

image sizes that are some 3% of the ones produced by ImageMagick

I didn't have time to find out how to make a port. But before I start
doing anything I'd like to know if somebody has already done this/ plans
to do it.

thanks,

Pau
