Fido2/Webauthn does randomly stop working in Firefox and Chrome

2021-06-22 Thread podolica
Hi,

I tested Fido2/Webauthn usb sticks (Yubikey and Solokey) with OpenBSD.
For testing, I open the webauthn.io site in a browser, enter a
username and first register with a stick and then login with the same.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not. :-(

If it does not work, the stick is recognised by the OS (see dmesg).
The Yubikey is blinking one time to say that it is attached AND
recognised by the system. If it only has power (tested with a power
bank), it is blinking in another pattern.
If I click on [Register] or [Login] and press the button of one of the
sticks, nothing happens.

If it is working, the leds of the sticks are indicating that they
can be used. Then, I pressed the button and the website confirms
the action (register or login).

I only attach one stick at a time.

I do not know if it is a problem with the Firefox and
Chromium ports or if it is an error in the OS. So please
appologise if I send this to the wrong mailing list.

Here is some more data:
Versions:
  OpenBSD 6.9
  Chromeium Version 90.0.4430.72
  Firefox 88.0.1

And finally: The whole dmesg output:
