What do you base this statement on? I’ve been using Apple’s Meal.app since around 2003 or so, and I’ve never had it encode everything as Internet links more mess up plaintext mail. -- "A musicologist is a man who can read music but can't hear it." - Sir Thomas Beecham (1879 - 1961)

Postfix does not give relay permission based on the "mail from" address. Instead, Postfix is usually configured to give relay permission based on IP address (permit_mynetworks) or SASL authentication status (permit_sasl_authenticated). With SASL authentication it is possible to require that a user can only send mail with a specific "mail from" address that is configured in smtpd_sender_login_maps. Otherwise, to enforce policies for a combination of ("mail from" and client IP address), perhaps http://www.postfwd.org/ can help. Wietse
Re: How can I test my mail server without having remote access
Thanks, that’s really interesting. I’m testing incoming mail, local mail and outgoing mail. Also mail if... I relay it via gmail. The main thing I’m looking into is the ipv6 interactivity, along with ssl/tls and security. An ipv6 only server is my goal, but I don’t know how achievable that is yet. - Robert Chalmers https://robert-chalmers.uk aut...@robert-chalmers.uk @R_A_Chalmers > On 4 Dec 2018, at 4:50 am, Andrey Repin wrote: > > Greetings, Robert Chalmers! > > >> I don’t have the luxury of having access to a useable computer from a site >> remote to my server, but I still need to test my email server, the TLS/SSL >> setup, smtp and smtpd. > > What exactly you want to test? > I've got a good success using ssmtp with some wrappings. > Let me upload them… There: http://www.rootdir.org/upload/smtest.tar.xz > >> There are some remote test sites that also want a valid email and password! >> But I’m a bit reluctant obviously. >> I suspect my site is not quite right, but can’t find a way to test it, and >> to explain results of tests. Relaying based on Souce IP address
Hi, Currently my Postfix is realying emails from domains listed in $relay_domains only when those emails come from IPs listed in $mynetworks. Is it possible with postfix to split this? to allow relaying some domains only when coming from IP 'A' and some other domains only when coming from IP 'B' Thx... --PPot.
