It never was a part of Postfix. This was from a third-party patch
which never was accepted into Postfix, yet managed to gain a
significant following somehow.

Rule of thumb, if it's not found in the postconf(5) manual, it's not
a valid Postfix setting. (That doesn't take into account user-
defined variables and the possibility of transport-specific settings
which are documented as default_* settings, but otherwise is pretty
close to accurate.)

Don't trust random bloggers without also consulting the Postfix
documentation.

unused parameter: virtual_mailbox_limit_maps

2017-03-09 Thread Robert Moskowitz

I found one article:

https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/postfix-warning-undefined-parameter-virtual_mailbox_limit_maps.71474/

that says it is not required anymore. To remove it. I am *assuming*
that I then also remove:

/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailbox_limit_maps.cf

I looked around and did not see anywhere it is being used.

Seems this is a hang over from long ago. Old server does not have this
option, but still has the file.

?

thanks
