Changes (by Richard):

  * status:  new => closed
  * resolution:  => invalid

Comment:

 Known aspiration, no need to clog up trac/mailing list with this.

 Just putting stuff in a single menu is the cop-out way of doing it and not
 especially helpful, especially as it risks making the interface look more
 complex to the first-time user. Each option needs to be considered on its
 own merits and that may involve a Toolbox option, or a context-sensitive
 menu or panel, or something in the tag panel, or whatever.

 I just realized there are much more functions than visible on the GUI!

 Based on Wikipedia:

 "Keyboard shortcuts are typically an _alternate_ means for invoking one or
 more commands " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_shortcut

 Note "alternate".

 I imagine an "Tools" menu, next to "Map style", "GPS data", a similar
 button, which would be a dropdown menu for the other extra features that
 are currently available via buttons only (e.g. "J").

 Something like the Tools menu in JOSM.

 Very easy to implement and would teach Potlatch to all users immediately.
