I need to send 3 parameters with the call of this VFP executable. I'm
having a brain fart and forgot how to do this! I'm creating a shortcut on
the desktop and this doesn't work in the command:

g:\Apps\MyApp.exe me.ini,.F.,.T.

I just get back a Syntax error! Can you remind me of how to pass parms to
the exe from the Windows call?

Hi Ali,

To restore the default colours, in VFP select the Tools menu, then Options,
then the Editor tab. There you will see a 'Reset All' button.

RE: XMLAdapter vfp9

Mr.Copquin,
Thanks for your reply.
With VFP, Produce XML from cursor and returning back is easy and no problem.

But my xml is not produced by Vfp. My xml is gotten from asmx web service as
datatable type (.Net datatable)

When I try as just you described, I get only an empty cursor, although xml have
data rows.

Subject: Re: XMLAdapter vfp9

With these statements you create a XML adapter and populate it with two
cursors:

oXML=CreateObject('XmlAdapter')
oXML.AddTableSchema('curWeeks')
oXML.AddTableSchema('curSemanas')
oXML.ToXML('cXML')

You can send the cXML variable to another form, with a private data session
thus:

do form form2 with cXML

with these statetements you retrieve the two cursors from the XML adapter,
but in form2

** init event form 2

lparameters tcXML

local cXML

cXML = tcXML

oXML=CreateObject('XmlAdapter')
oXML.LoadXML(cXML)
oXML.Tables.Item(1).ToCursor() name of the first cursor ie: curWeeks
oXML.Tables.Item(2).ToCursor() name of the second cursor ie: curSemanas

the above are taken from an actual application I am just building

Be careful, pay attention to the quote marks and how to use them. In the
first snippet, you use the quotes and create the xml variable (cXML).
In the second snippet, you use the variable cXML, but without the quotes.

Regards

Rafael Copquin

In MySQL can you give a nint to the index you want used? It may still

In kabul_cikis, there are 47000 rows.
I have indexes on those fields.

When I run queries one by one: I mean in(...) query:

select basvuru_fk

group by basvuru_fk having MIN(cikis_zmn) ' '

Result is : 44048 rows fetched in 0,08s

select k.*, b.sgk_statu

where k.basvuru_fk = b.id
and k.sosguvsnf = 1
and k.iptal 1
and b.id between 1 and 50655
and k.devrkurum  '4';

Result is : 40867 rows fetched in 1,36s.

But when together, infinite time.

Same query run in vfp and mssql in few seconds.

 where k.basvuru_fk = b.id

 and k.sosguvsnf = 1

 and k.iptal 1

 and b.id between 1 and 50655

and b.id in( select basvuru_fk from kabul_cikis where iptal 1 group by
 basvuru_fk having MIN(cikis_zmn) ' ')

 and k.devrkurum  '4';

Try this one that doesn't get all fields, that puts the join in a join clause,
(temporarily) does away with the subquery, and adds a limit clause, and see if
it
performs better:

select k.iptal,
k.sosguvsnf,
k.devrkurum,
b.sgk_statu
   from kabul_cikis k
  inner join basvuru b
 on b.id = k.basvuru_fk
  where k.sosguvsnf = 1
and k.iptal 1
and b.id between 1 and 50665
and k.devrkurum '4'
  limit 1000;

If this one still takes forever, you need to look at your indexes. If this one
performs quickly, start adding back the things I took away to find out where
the
bottleneck is. If there are a ton of fields coming over a slow net for over 50K
records, that will definitely slow it down. Perhaps it is the subquery.

RE: Modal form on Vista

2008-11-25 Thread Ali İhsan Türkoğlu
I put these lines to main program entrance, but no change.

I declared a public variable as ModalOn = .f..
On each menu pad, I put skip for ModalOn.
When I enter to a modal form, I do ModalOn = .t.,
and when unload event of the modal form, again ModalOn = .f.

With this way, I solved the problem but, I look for an easier way.

Could this be related:

There is an issue with popups not releasing the highlighting correctly. This
is what works around it. I would need to build a test project, or if you
have a small test project for others with Vista to test.

RE: Escape from Infinite loop

2007-01-08 Thread Ali İhsan Türkoğlu
Mr. Mike show very good ways:

There are plenty of ways you can do this.

The simplest would be to create a form property, lStop, which is set to .T.
in the stop button's Click()

Then, in your loop, you will need to call DoEvents() once in a while. This
will let the UI events happen, so your code can check to see if lStop has
been set to .T.

If it has, you can end your loop.

Another way would be to use two programs

1. a UI-less EXE that performs your loop.
2. a UI that creates and deletes a file on disk

When the UI application starts, it should create the file, and launch the
UI-less app.

When the stop button is clicked on the UI application, it should delete the
file.

The loop can do something like this:

do while .t.
   if file(myservice.txt)
*** Code to open DBF, look for records, and process
   else
   exit
   endif
enddo
So if myservice.txt exists, the loop keeps running. If it gets deleted, the
loop stops.

One benefit of this method is that the loop can be terminated by deleting a
file from Windows explorer, if all else fails.

Mr. Bill,
If the load is not so much, I think you right.
My program will call WebServices continuously. If demands are much, I may
run the same program more than one in the server. If I use timer event, I
don't sure what should be the intervals. More interval means client wait
more, short intervals may decrease the capture of stop button click event.
I mean when user click the stop button, if program in job, will not reponse.
Isn't it?

Wouldn't it be better to put the test into a timer event, so it doesn't
waste resources? I haven't implemented your appoach anywhere, but can
see it's usefulness. I'd just like not to eat a lot of resources when in
this mode, which potentially can go on for some time. Also, I am
assuming that timer-driven events are a hardware (clock) thing and not a
loop somewhere within VFP's runtime, in which case it doesn't matter as
much.

I believe this question has come up before, but don't think I got a
clear understanding of it: do timer events eat any resources while
waiting to fire?

WSDL to XML converter

I must call some web services.

These web services methots are required input and output parameters which
are composed of complex type objects.

Some parameters are complex object of other complex type object (and/or)

Is there a tool that read WSDL file, and produces methots input and output
parameters as XML?

If I know this XML structure, filling it with data will be very easy using
