RE: Themed controls from VFPX -- anyone using them?

2011-06-08 Thread Peter Hart
Hi Mike
I am using the argsoft controls on a number of projects and after the
initial learning curve I am getting on with them very well.
I find Alex Grigorjev very easy to talk to. His English is very good. He
answers queries very quickly.
I have set up a web site for him which he is actively using as far as the
support forum is concerned. I am afraid that since my illness I have not
done much with the Blog but I intend to return to it soon as I have nearly
finished a particular project.
I publish my Help files to the web so that I can update them as required.
The user sees a html page in a VFP form when they click on the Help icon.
They need updating very often at the moment as the client asks for changes
to the forms etc. Some of the help files are sketchy as I need some input
from the current users.
I can email you a link to these files direct if you want as I do not want to
get them googled.

Cheers

Peter

Thanks, Rick. I expect to purchase a subscription very soon.

I think Malcolm used these controls from this guy, iirc. Malcolm?

2011-06-07 Thread Rick Schummer
Not really easy, but I guess the help is better now. My problem was that the
controls became out of date by the time
I rolled anything out.

You must have been working with the ThemedControls while they were in full
stride development. I did too and that has
settled down now. Controls work well and are very nice in an app.

The ThemedControls have been covered in FoxRockX in a series of articles on
VFPX. Subscription is less than $100
annually for electronic edition, and full set of past articles. Many sessions
at SWFox at the last few Southwest Fox
Conferences. {g}

Ribbon control in particular is not fully implemented. Emerson recommended the
ribbon control I am about to point you
to.

If you need a ribbon control I can recommend this one: http://www.arg.kirov.ru/

Documentation is a little sketchy, but it works great and looks nice and modern.

Hi,

Was hoping to connect with anyone actually using the VFPX Themed Controls,
specifically the Ribbon class.

Please email me if so. Thanks!

Yes I am using a version, but not this one, it was a pain, but now it works
like a
charm. I did change the frameset for buttons, the rest is the same. Ah I
introduced

I started to use these but they updated too often to make it practical

I would think that updating often (as long as not breaking previous

Ok, so for the time you did use it, was it easy to implement?

Not really easy, but I guess the help is better now. My problem was that the
controls became out of date by the time I rolled anything out. Yes it's a
good thing but I was worried about having code somewhere that got broke. I
used the outlook look alike and it was ok to use but like VFP classes in
general you need to understand the basics so you know where to put code.
Can't really help more than that, I don't even know if it's still live as I
gave up on it. Also M$ changed the look of office so it was no longer
modern. Which to me was the point.
