characteristics; Design and execute a Data Quality Audit/Assessment; Design
and execute the data quality mappings that will cleanse, de-duplicate, and
otherwise prepare the project data

• Implement data quality processes including transliteration, parsing,
analysis, standardization and enrichment at point of entry and batch modes;
Deploy mappings that will run in a scheduled, batch, or real-time
environment.

• Run data quality specific ETL jobs (address standardization and
validation, email cleanups, name cleanup, parsing, etc.) utilizing IDQ and
other ETL tools

• Document all mappings, mapplets, and rules in detail and hand over
documentation to the customer

• Collaborate with various business and technical teams to gather
requirements around data quality rules and propose the optimization of
these rules if applicable, then design and develop these rules with IDQ

• As per business requirements perform thorough data profiling with
multiple usage patterns, root cause analysis and data cleansing and develop
scorecards utilizing Informatica, Excel and other data quality tools

• Good knowledge on writing shell-scripts to invoke mappings or workflows •
Proficient at writing SQL queries and verifying the results

o Ability to explain their method for performance tuning
o The person needs to be able to troubleshoot a poorly performing query
holistically – meaning that they don’t just look at how the query is
structured but also look at the underlying structures such as indexes, data
sets, etc.
o Poorly performing stored procedures need to have queries reviewed, as
well as the objects contained within the stored procedure (Cursors?
Function calls? Etc)
• Developer needs to be able to track through complex code to understand
what it is doing and why
• Developer needs to be able to create stored procedures to solve complex
problems. This could require:
o Referencing multiple crosswalk tables to pull in all necessary values
o Trace through any other code that is also touching/affecting the data set
o Look at the solution from multiple views to find the one that best fits
the environment and task at hand

4 Troubleshooting Skills
• These skills need to be advanced
• Ability to dissect a failed process to:
o Determine cause
o Deduce correction
o Confidence to take action on the correction
o Move with a sense of urgency
• Ability to dissect data issues to:
o Determine one or more causes of the issue
o Determine resolution of coding defects
