Re: Slate's VCC and Waves NLS
so if i understand correctly, Slate's F G X works fine with vo, no control surface needed. But for VCC and waves SSL you need a control surface to change perimeters and the save/load buttons aren't accessible? Slate's VCC and Waves NLS
Hey guys here are the report on Slate’s VCC and NLS by Waves. Briefly these are plug-ins that for the most part tries to emulate the old famous analog consoles. After working on or just being in studios that had SSL, Neves and some of the others, I will say VCC and NLS are great emulators. After a few days with both, I am leaning toward one over the other but this isn’t the time or place for that discussion. The VCC does need the ilok2 to operate. The NLS runs on Wave’s WLC, that’s there new wave’s cloud system. On purchase or demo, Slate will send you a code where you go to redeem license on ilok.com. The wave’s WLC is still not accessible so you would have to call tech support and they would do a team viewer a kind of remote on your Cpu to install. Once installed both windows are for most part accessible. The VCC only has about 6 or 7 controls and voiceover sees them all. The one issue is where you change the type of console; voiceover reads it as numbers like it’s a volume control or something. Actually is changing say from SSL to Neve NLS on the other hand has many more controls. Most of them are visible to voiceover. As you move from console to console VO reads them. So in short both are usable. Slate as in with the documented problems we have been having with waves and some other third party plug-ins, The windows that display the load and save buttons are not accessible. Both of these plug-in parameters as I reported VCC and NLS Can be read by voiceover, but you can’t move them by interacting with them. You are going to have to use your control surface to do this. With a small amount of work a rounds maybe quick keys or something, To access the load and save buttons these are excellent and usable plug-ins.
