Re: metering question

Brian,

Even though you are using 12 I think deleting the preference might work.

I googled this but you should be able to follow the below steps.

John

How do I trash my Pro Tools preferences?
• Article #1721787

Trashing the Pro Tools preferences is a good way to “reset” Pro Tools if the
application is behaving abnormally. With Pro Tools closed, follow the steps
below based on your version of Pro Tools and/or your computer’s operating
system.

Pro Tools 11 on Mac
• With Finder as the active application, hold the Option key and click
on the Go menu at the top of the screen. Then, select Library.
• Go to the Preferences folder and delete the following items:
• com.avid.ProTools.plist
• ProTools folder within the Avid folder
• Empty your trash.

Two Questions about Clip Gain

2015-04-02 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
1. If I have a track which I have done some clip gain modifications to, is
there a real quick way that I can then get rid of all those mods, as if I'd
never done any clip gaining at all to the track? This way, as far as CG goes,
I can pretty much start over with a fresh slate? The audio track only has one
region if that makes any difference.

2. If I've made some clip gain changes on a track at certain points in the
timeline, then, I go back, select that track only in the track list table, hit
return to move to the top, ctrl+A to select all, then whack the delete key,
what then happens? Will that only delete my audio? Or, would that also then
delete my clip gain events, therefore making me have to redo them, if I then
was to rerecord the audio on that track.

Thank you.

Chris.

Never got the swing of nudging as i just rarely end up in scenarios where i
would need to. So what i do in those rare scenario’s is just cut and paste .
Cut it, move the cursor where you think it will work and paste it. Undo, move
the cursor and paste again if the first try wasn’t dead on. Just an alternative
method to try.

Question about sorting tracks

Hello all,
When importing tracks in for a mix, is there a way to move tracks around, like
let’s say I want my drums to be at the top of the session and then my bass,
etc, or do you just have to import them in that way, wasn’t sure if there was a
way to sort tracks once the tracks were imported. Thanks,
Brian

CPU error message

2015-04-02 Thread Brian Howerton
Hello,
I have done extensive reading about this CPU error issue, and this is
discouraging because it doesn’t look like there is a fix for this problem.
Here is an accessibility question… How do you read the CPU usage meter with
voiceover? This is absolutely unbelievable that I have paid all this money for
pro tools and I may not be able to use it. From what I have been reading on
the forums, avid doesn’t seem to have any interest in fixing this problem. All
I want to know is has anyone else on this list had this problem. This session
has 10 tracks in it. There are no plugins on the session, and from what I was
reading, it doesn’t matter if you have plugins in the session or not, the
problem is still occurring. I am very frustrated.
Brian

This cannot be possible because I have a mac book pro with a 2.9 I7 quad core

2015-04-02 Thread mcdiemert .
IN AD 1 in pro tools 10 you are able to adjust the various plugin
parameters. However, with the new AD 2 you are unable to adjust the
individual options. With pre sets you can switch between kits, but you
are unable to adjust the volume pitch, compression, ETC of the
presets.

I’m trying to test the EZDrummer 2 for the Mac, the demo version to see how it
sounds, because i was under the impression and correct me if i’m wrong please,
that Addictive drums 2 could not be used at all even as a plugin under Pro
tools 11. I have installed EZDrummer and when i open the app in stand-alone
mode all i get is ”busy busy”, now i don’t expect EzDrummer to work or rather
to be accessible in stand-alone mode, but here’s the thing, when i open it as a
plugin under Protools 11.3 Protools crashes and opens the crash reporter.
Anyone have had this happen or am i missing something?
/Krister
