Re: Pro Tools S3

2017-02-21 Thread Katie Zodrow
Hi Ronald. I didn’t realize the Artist Transport was discontinued until I read
your message. I just went on the Avid website today and just saw that as well
on their end of life and support products page. Yep, they stopped selling the
Transport since January last year.

I am still trying to figure out what the best option is for a control surface
for my ProTools system. I was hoping to get the Avid S3 and use this along with
the Artist Transport. Since this has been discontinued for a year now, what
other options are available? I haven’t looked at the Avid S3, but is there
anything else you can use for editing and transport controls with that control
surface? I will be doing some editing and mixing projects in mono, stereo and
5.1 surround.

Slau, I know you said Avid would be releasing the iPad Doc to use with ProTools
and the S3. What is the Doc and do you absolutely need an iPad or not for this?
Hopefully this is accessible with Voiceover.
Let me know if any of you guys have used the Avid S3 or the iPad Doc before and
if this is a good option.
Thanks.

Re: 2 questions Regarding the Pt access folder in dropbox

2017-02-21 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Ramy,

The TT file is for using team Talk. I personally have never used it so someone
else could chime in about that.

The Kontakt macros are for opening patches and adding libraries in the
stand-alone Kontakt. To get the most benefit, you need to have both the Kontakt
and Content Missing macro groups present plus there's one more macro that needs
to reside in your Global group. I'll have to make a couple of adjustments and
I'll write some instructions within the next couple of days and will let the
list know when they're ready.

What's more economic

2017-02-21 Thread Martin (Punky) Sopart
Hi all!

When having for example 5 MIDI tracks with different drum instruments...
Is it more economic - regarding computer resources - to route all 5 MIDI
tracks to one aux track and instantiate the drum sound plug-in here.
Or is it better to have 5 individual instrument tracks, each with the same
plug-in.

Isn't the second way better to be able to freeze tracks.

Thanks for your ideas! / Martin
