Q: sample (loops) based produktions in pt possible?

2017-04-04 Thread 'Patrick Schuppe' via Pro Tools Accessibility
Hello all PT experts,

I wonder if pt can be used to produce music sample based? I am asking
because I am a DJ for years now. I tried and tried again and again to
produce my own music but never went any where with it because of complexity
and stuff not beeing easy and accessible.

I am about to take a curse that is produced for DJs that teaches how to
produce tracks based on samples and not on playing instruments.

So basicly you stack loops on each other and turn them on or off plus have
a melody played. So very simple stuff in teory.

In this curse they use Ableton Live. But I wonder if that is possible for
us blind people in pt, too And if yes how such a projekt could work.

I would love to give this a fair try and create a projekt around it that
teaches people how to produce your very own first track even if you are not
great at playing midi instruments.

I have complete 10 and the Komplete Kontrol kayboard here even if I use it
not so often.
I also fund it difficold to set everything up so I set it aside for a while.
Now I want to try again with just the fokus on samples and may be having
someone play a melody for me.

The ultimate goal is to produce my very own dance track a dream I have for
15 years now.

I am onest! I know for sure I will need a coach for this and am willing to
pay monthly what I can to get the result I am after.

But first things first:-) Is it even possible?

If it is I will get the curse; let you know how they do it and then we see
together how we may reproduce the same in pt. I know for sure that this
will be a great projekt!

But I admit it I will need help! To be clear and fair lots of help ok?

Warm regards from Patrick here from Germany:-)

In the Keyboard pane of System Preferences, check the box that says
"Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys."

In systempreferences, did you go to keyboard and set the fn keys to
not default to special functions (I forget the exact wording here)?

How do
you spend it?

FloTools Not Responding to Hotkeys

2017-04-04 Thread Samuel Wilkins

Hello everyone,
Thank you for the suggestion for looking at the Readme file for
FloTools. I got Keyboard Maestro installed and have now installed
FloTools. However, it is not responding to hotkeys. I opened a
session, and tried command F1 to see whether it would work. However,
instead of telling me about selections, it tried to adjust a brightness
setting. I've made sure that VoiceOver was set to allow control by
Apple Script and that the keyboard settings were set to US English. I
also tried using the FN key with command F1, but that didn't work, and
Neither did pressing Command F2 or F3. What could I be doing wrong? I'm
using a Mackbook with ProTools 12. Thank you.
