Re: Import problem

2017-12-08 Thread Slau Halatyn
Avid's official position is that High Sierra is not yet approved and they offer
no workaround at this time as it is not recommended. I'm thinking the next
release will support it.

 Sorry for another question:
I have an anual upgrade plan for Pro Tools, but when I went into ”My
products & subscriptions” on avid.com , it appeared that
the plan was expired and that I had to update my payment information.
I filled in the right information and it said that the update was
 successfull.
But I still can’t find a version higher than 12.7.1 in my download links.
Any ideas on what to do? 😊

 Best,
 Niklas

Hi Yeah That would be your problem with Hi Sierra. This actually happened
to me a few weeks back. I upgraded to hi sierra and was running protools
12.61. This import problem occurred. I upgraded to 12.82 and import
problem was resolved. So speaking from experience i would almost guarantee
this would get you back and running again.

That's most likely the case since I recently updated to High Sierra.

I've looked for a solution for this for several days now and didn't
thought of this at all. :)

 Thank you again!

 Hey Niklas,
Most likely the problem is that you have updated your system to Mac OS
High Sierra. In any case you are using a version of ProTools that’s too
old for the operating system you are running. I believe Avid hasn’t
officially approved High Sierra yet, but if you update to the latest
ProTools version (12.8.2) things should mostly work fine. If you are not
on High Sierra I would still recommend that you update ProTools, which
will most likely solve the issue.
 Best,

Yeah, the High Sierra compatibility is iffy. Using the current version of Pro
Tools has alleviated the problem for some but, again, since it hasn't been
approved yet, it's not guaranteed to work. Not sure what the alternative is,
given the technical incompatibility. I guess it's a lesson in paying close
attention to which OS is and isn't approved. If I think of or hear about any
workaround, I'll post it here.

Re: Displaying VO Hotspot Content on a Braille Display

2017-12-08 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Alex,
Flo Tools does all that and more. Regarding the braille implementation, that's
more of a VoiceOver-specific area but other braille display users can chime in,
although I doubt there are many.

Hi Alex,

What about VO "window spots?
Key command is "control option u"
You can ad them or subtract them for VoiceOver?
I have my num pad set up to set them & delete them for speed.
I use them all the time for quick Pro tools VO navigation!

Displaying VO Hotspot Content on a Braille Display

2017-12-08 Thread Alex Coleman
Good morning all,
I know there's been posts about using a Braille display with PT & VO,
but I'm curious if anyone has done (or would know how to do) something
like the following:

1. Define several voiceover hotspot areas for things like peek meters,
counter values, etc.
2. Show all of those hotspot content areas on a braille display, at
the same time.

For example, I have an 80-cell Focus Blue display and thought it would
be nice to be able to assign certain hotspots to specific cells on the
display, kind of like a custom status bar or dashboard in braille.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how this might be accomplished, or if
it is even possible?

Thanks for any feedback you can share.
