Re: Going online

2020-06-09 Thread Slau Halatyn
Pro Tools doesn't need to be connected to the Internet to work. It simply needs
to see a license which is either on your iLok or, if you're using iLok Cloud,
then you'd need Internet access.

Re: Don't know what is happening

2020-06-09 Thread Slau Halatyn
It's possible that the track is in solo safe mode. I'd check that first. For
what it's worth, you can use Flo Tools to tell you if there are any tracks
either soloed or in solo safe. To turn off solo safe, Command-click the solo
button. If you don't have a control surface, you can enable Flo Mouse and use
Command+accent while focused on the solo button to Command-click it.

Re: Don't know what is happening

2020-06-09 Thread Dammie Onafeko
Morning Slau! I get the latch and s/r functions. However, there is
this other option, SIP "solo in place" which stays checked no matter
what I do. My problem is that a particular track stays solo and
unsoloed whether it is selected or not. The tracks I'm actually
selecting and soloing are not being soloed at all. When I push "shift
s" to solo them, this other track that seemed to be soloed last the
last time I worked in the session become solo instead. What do you
think is the cause of this? And how do I rectify the situation back to
normal? Thanks!

Faderport 16 or Avid Artist ???

2020-06-09 Thread DRJ Consulting
Hello friends on the list.

I have a question, especially it is directed to work with Protools and Logic
Pro X.

Between these two control surfaces, which one can be more suitable for these
two DWAS?

Presonus faderport 16 or Avid Artist.

Thanks from Barcelona Spain.

Best, Jose.

Re: Ilok moving Pro Tools Licence from Ilok Cloud to Ilok Dongle

2020-06-09 Thread Slau Halatyn
I don't have time to check the language right now but, basically, you want to
stop your cloud session. When you do this, all licenses simply reside in your
account and can then be authorized to a key. If you haven't used a key before,
all of your licenses would either be authorized to either your local drive or
the cloud session. Let me know if that's clear enough. There's no risk involved
in stopping the cloud session. All licenses simply become available for
authorization to whichever location you choose.

Slau

Re: Don't know what is happening

2020-06-09 Thread Slau Halatyn
Latching means whatever you solo will remain soloed. The "X or" option cancels
previous solos so you only hear one thing unless you add Shift while pressing
solo to add to the solo.

Ilok moving Pro Tools Licence from Ilok Cloud to Ilok Dongle

2020-06-09 Thread Toby Davey

Hi,

I am in the process of moving my Pro Tools licence from Ilok Cloud to an
Ilock dongle and just wanted to check a couple of things if anyone could
clarify the procedure.

Slau your demo on using Ilok manager was great and I have successfully
registered my new Ilok dongle but before I try and move my Pro Tools
licence I just wanted to check a couple of things.

In Ilok Manager - if I use Command plus 1 to show ‘all licences’, I can see
my Pro Tools licence. If I want to move my PT licence from Ilok Cloud to
the Ilok dongle is it just a case of deactivating the licence and then
activating it to the dongle?

If I choose to deactivate the licence with Command Shift D - do I just
press agree? There seems to be some text that VoiceOver reads out…

Deactivate to my cloud and set the Ilok cloud to managed mode.

Automatic mode - automatically activates all all cloud - enabled licences
when a cloud session is opened.

managed mode - the ilok the Ilok cloud is managed as a physical location.
Activations can be deactivated Individually.

I think this is just text but not sure if somehow I needed to select any of
these options or as I say they are just text indicating what will happen if
I press agree.

I assume after I press agree it is just a case of using Command plus 2 for
‘available licences’ highlighting Pro Tools and using Command shift A to
activate the licence to the dongle?

There is also Avid Falcon AAX Time Subscription in my Ilok Cloud which I
suspect wil need to be moved to the dongle too in the same way.

just wanted to check I am doing everything right before I take the plunge
as i don’t want to end up messing things up and not be able to get back
into Pro Tools!

Cheers

Toby
