Thanks for the feedback. It's Antares Autotune. I use Waves H-Delay, and Waves Renaissance Reverb all on buses. I use Waves SSL Channel on most of the tracks for EQ and Compression. Re: feedback needed for Pro Tools 12
Hi Slau, Thanks again for every thing you are doing. My input. I agree with Gord, it would be cool to change plugin values in larger increments. Also, it would be nice to be able to read gain reduction meters in compressor plugins both stock and 3rd party. Also, there are 2 popup menus in the select-split notes dialog that do not work with voiceover. This dialog is accessed with option y. This will be largely driven by bug submissions already within the beta system but I wanted to get a sense of what the user base is focused on day to day. My goal is to address quality-of-life issues that affect the use of Pro Tools with VoiceOver. For example, the way the inserts and, in particular, sends are displayed is simply awful. This needs to be overhauled. There are a number of such issues that can hopefully be taken care of in one marathon session of tweaks. I have a clear idea of what I personally think should be addressed but I thought I'd take the temperature of the community. What I'm asking of the list is for people to enumerate 3 to 5 things that most affect their productivity and would like to see improved. Now, I don't mean for people to suggest a different method for importing files to an existing track. That's a bigger fish to fry and the subject of a longer term solution. These are, as I said, quality-of-life issues that can be addressed quickly. Also, don't bring up issues in version 10. We're talking existing issues in version 11. Give me your top 3 or top 5 items and we'll see which seem to reveal themselves as the biggest concerns. The sooner you get those to me, the sooner I can prepare. Changing value resolution in plugins.
Hi every one, I've experienced a very strange situation changing values in plugins in pro tools 11. In some third party plugins, such as waves ssl, the values were changing in much too small units when interacting and using the arrows. However, about a month ago, for no reason I could think of, the values suddenly began changing in better units. For example before the values in an EQ plugin would change like 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.2, 0.2, etc. They then started changing 0.5, 1.0, 1.5. The problem is that I just formatted my system and reinstalled all my software and is has reverted to the previous behaviour. Can some one please tell me how to change this behaviour? Instructions for using clip gain.
Hi everyone, I am very happy to say that clip gain is very accessible. I use it all the time for nudging vocal phrases up or down instead of automation. I find it more accurate and it's undoable. Here are step by step instructions. Under the editing tab of pro tools preferences, interact with clips, and vo right arrow to clip nudge value, and vo space bar on the actual value. Press the delete key to clear the current value, then type in the value in DB that you want such as 2.0 Ok out of preferences, then under the clips sub menu of the view menu, make sure that clip gain line and clip gain info are both checked. Now you can use the key commands shift control up arrow and shift control down arrow to nudge the value up or down. Oh, I forgot to mention that before you can nudge the value you have to select the region you want to nudge, then press command E to separate it in to it's own clip. Also, the commands shift control up and down arrows may be assigned to os 10 commands, so make sure to turn them off in system preferences. Hope this helps. So, Option-plus will reveal more of the previously recorded audio while Option-minus will reveal more of the newly recorded audio. Using Command as the modifier will do the same thing with the end of the selected region. For all of the aforementioned shortcuts to work, there must be a region selected. Otherwise, the only thing that's going to happen is that you'll hear auditions of audio based on pre and post roll value. Sounding midi notes when tabbing.
Hi every one, I need some help with the following problem. I have recorded some midi data on an instrument track. I have the track selected in the track list table. What I want to do is tab through the midi events on the track, and have each note sound each time I press the tab key to copy/delete notes etc. Both in the mix and edit windows, with the instrument track selected in the track list table, there is no sound when I press tab, but the counter moves. I know this because when I press play after pressing tab a few times from the beginning of the session, the session does not start from the beginning. I have tried turning tab to transients on and off with no luck. I know this is possible since Chuck actually showed me this in action on the phone, but we couldn't figgure out why it's not happening on my system. Thanks in advance for any help. Jason

A few very basic questions.
Hi every one, As I use pro tools every day, I am liking it more and more. I am actually doing professional work in it. However, in jumping around to find what I need, I am finding that I need to know a few basic things. 1, In the mix window, what are the 2 mix window selecter buttons for? I know 1 brings up a menu of things, but I can't figure what the other is for? 2. If I solo a few audio or instrument traks, then from the track list pop up menu choose to show only aux tracks, the audio and instrument tracks I had soloed become unsoloed as I am taken in to the aux tracks. Is there any way to keep them soloed? 3, If I write a pass of automation such as a fade out using write mode, when the automation is playing back, the level jumps back up after the automation? As far as I know, this should only happen in touch mode? 4, Every once in a while, when interacting with a track, I loose many items such as track input, output, volume etc and the only items visible are incerts, sends, comments and 1 more field which I can't remember right now. I have to close and reopen the file to see all of the fields again? Thanks in advance for any help. Jason

I have tried some methods for accessing different areas of an interface voice over can't read, simply by using terminal commands to place the mouse on an xy coordinate and click on the element. This however is really not the best implementation as it requires a lot of data punching for all the elements on the screen. I was wondering if your brother was interested in getting hired lol for a bit to implement a quikeys accessibility frame for those plugins. Name the price and i will consider it. My idea here is to showcase the accessibility to predator which can first hand show them how it should work, and their engineers can then have all the precognitive assets such as a working demo, my own research and articles on implementing this with the coco framework, and other tidbits. Following the pt intro doc, i can make the pen selection, change edit view to grid, and set the ruler to beats/bars. However, when i go into my track in the main edit window, i can't find any grid for changing manually the midi notes i entered with my controller. IS this something that's not accessible yet? 2- How is track selection made? I actually go into the track cluster, and my setup presently has 3 tracks. 2 instruments and 1 metronome or click track. I can see there is a list of three tracks, but vo tells me blank for all of them. Pressing does seem to do something, but when i vo right back to the track, its still the same one. I know it's probably a newbie request here, and i apologize for this newbieish attitude, but you know when you got a new toy and want to go as far as sanity can in one go? Well that's what i've been going through :) Hope someone can shed some light Best regards, Yuma Hi Slau, Once you select the note, can you do the following?
