Re: cd burning on mac

2017-11-20 Thread Steve Sparrow
Hey Chris. yeah i use it a lot. It was you who recommended it to me. It’s
briliant. The only thing is i think these guys are looking for something with
multi burner support. I’m not sure that simply burns will do this. But if it
does, well i’d be interested to find out.

But yeah, simply burns is very easy to use, and i use it a lot along with toast
audio for different applications.

I'm totally shocked that no one on here has suggested the free and I think,
though don't quote me, maybe even open source app called Simplyburns. By far,
it's probably the best and most accessible stand alone burner I've yet found

Wave burner was part of a Logic pro package at one point, and i think the last
version it was available with was logic pro 9. Unless you bought a copy of
logic pro 9 or know someone with the install disc who can send you the app,
you wont be able to aquire wave burner anymore.

Hi Chuck!

I just tried "Express Burner".
For only one drive it is ok and quite good accessible.
Would be nice to have an accessible app with multi drive support like Nero on
the Windows side.

Hi Ignasi & Martin,

WaveBurner shipped with older versions of logic pro.
Not sure if you can find it out there though.
I use it every day just about though.
Burn is ok but trying to switch which burner you want to use is not accessible
for me?
If you only have 1 burner it might work for you but I have several on my chain!

Realize that Finder will only burn CD data as far as I know. If you're
trying to burn CD audio, I don't think it'll work, someone correct me if I'm
wrong.

Re: cd burning on mac

2016-07-02 Thread Slau Halatyn
Just a general clarification on the Red Book standard: a CD can have virtually
any size gap or even no gap and it has no bearing on whether it's a Red Book
disc. The Red Book standard (and there are a couple of other standards like
Orange Book as well) requires that the CD PQ subcode information adhere to a
certain set of parameters. Many programs are capable of burning what would be
considered a Red Book standard audio CD but some don't allow you to edit that
PQ subcode information.

Standard CD Players can read gapless CD's although they are not Redbook

If i remember correctly, if burning redbook format cd's, there will always
be a 2 second gap between the first and second track. If not, a standard cd
player won't be able to read the disk. It's part of the format just like
44.1 16 bit.

Re: cd burning on mac

2016-07-02 Thread Steve Sparrow
the thing is i can burn the CD fine if i take it to my windows machine and burn
with nero. No gaps between any track, totally gapless. But i’d like to not have
to do this. I’d like to be able to complete the whole project on the mac. How
ever. lots of options here now, so i’m sure something will do the job.

Hi Steve,
First of all this is very much on topic as you half to do something with your
pt projects! :)
the part about deleting those files after burning in itunes was to keep your hd
free from "track build up" lol
Remember in itunes you can hit "command shift r" to reveal the files location
dslau's suggestion about creating a separate library would be an easier way to
clean up after burning your project.
YMMV

2016-07-02 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Steve,

You have to add a song to the library in order to add it to a playlist but two
things to consider would be that, first, you don't have to have iTunes copy the
song to your media folder and, second, you can have multiple libraries so you
won't have to clutter your personal library.
Hope that helps,
Slau

Re: cd burning on mac

2016-07-02 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Steve,
You can do it with itunes its just a bit more moves.
What I do when I want to use itunes is to make a new playlist and copy and
paste the wav files in to that play list and burn it.
Just choose the options for the burn.
After the burn I go back and delete the files from the hd and also delete the
play list files.
More steps but it gets the job done.
I use "wave Burner" 98% of the time though.
YMMV

Re: cd burning on mac

2016-07-02 Thread Steve Sparrow
Hi Keith. I’ve found iTunes good for burning something that exists in the
iTunes library. But unless i’ve got this wrong you have to add all your tracks
to the iTunes library before you can burn them. Most of what i want to burn are
wav files i’ve created here in the studio. If iTunes can do this job, i’d be
interested to use it. But i didn’t think it did. Playing around with simply
burns at the moment.
