Mitchell We recently (4.x) updated how puppet handles checksums, so it should be fairly easy to add the type of checksum you're talking about. I think the hard part is detecting when you get to the end of the file, e.g. you might read 512 bytes in the second to last chunk, and then only 1 byte on the last chunk, so then you have to reassemble the 511 bytes from the next to last chunk with the remaining 1 byte, and update the checksum. We are trying to make up for that difference. There were many language changes between puppet 3 and 4, and many of the "unspecified" behaviors in early puppet have been fixed in puppet 4. Resource(file_line) which is available in Class(StdLib) is not accessible after installation of the class in modulepath /etc/puppet/modulesUsage of the resource(file_line) done in a class ( profilechange1) is as below {code:puppet} class postgresql::profilechange1{file_line{'Path updation':path => '/etc/profile',ensure => present,line => 'PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/pgsql/bin\n',}} {code} Error encountered --Error: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER: Could not find class stdlib for sys-server on node sys-serverWarning: Not using cache on failed catalogError: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping runThe class stdlib although available under /etc/puppet/modules is not accessible from a local classCould find a similar issue reported in the older puppet issue list in redminehttps://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/16568As per it, restart of server and client was suggested, which was also tried with no favourable results.
