It is an ambiguity in the Puppet language that needs to be resolved by using a ';' to make the parser understand that the file resource _expression_ is not the left hand side of yet another resource _expression_. It is unavoidable with the parser technology we are using since it cannot do the required look ahead to resolve the ambiguity. We may be able to fix this if we drop the resource default _expression_ from the language, or we we were to find a different parser generator than racc. For now I say this works as designed, so closing this with "won't fix". The current behavior from `latest` does not refresh package metadata. pkg list -a implies a periodic metadata refresh. {noformat}Note the current code says Simply adding `pkg( : # Return the version of the package. Note that the bug# http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=19159%# notes that we can't use -Ha for the same even though the manual page reads that way.{noformat}I can't find that bug refresh)` to see what it was but -Ha is `latest` addresses the way to do it minor issue . If -Hav is unacceptable vs -Hvn A refactor to use `pkg refresh update -n res ` would will be required prior to the list action.- undertaken at a is preferred as it will not refresh every time later date.
