Improve discover-ability of documentation for how to to use task metaparameters in a powershell task. For example in order for a powershell task that uses the powershell input method to access the _installdir metaparameter the task must declare the _installdir as an expected parameter.

(Initial planned release date: 2019-03-15) Once docs have finished building (check that all links resolve appropriately) -

Create an e-mail announcement with the subject "Bolt 1.14.0 now available". Include a summary of the release and links to the installation instructions and release notes.

In the From: field, enter the Google account Puppet Product Updates (puppet-product-upda...@puppet.com).
In the Bcc: field, enter the following addresses. Send a separate message to each: internal-puppet-product-upda...@puppet.com, puppet-us...@googlegroups.com, puppet-...@googlegroups.com, and puppet-annou...@googlegroups.com.

If this release has security implications, also send to puppet-security-annou...@googlegroups.com.
If you want, make a PSA on IRC and/or Slack, something along the lines of "PSA: Bolt 1.14.0 is now available".

(Initial planned release date: 2019-03-15) Ensure all tickets referenced in the commit log have a bug targeted at the release, and ensure all tickets targeted at the release have a corresponding commit. You can do this manually by inspecting the git log and comparing against 'Project=Bolt and fixVersion="Bolt x.y.z"' in JIRA.

(Initial planned release date: 2019-03-15) Until we automate this, you'll also need to update the version and SHA hashes of https://github.com/puppetlabs/homebrew-puppet/blob/master/Casks/puppet-bolt.rb. To do this please

Create a fork of the homebrew-puppet repo
Create a new branch on that fork
Run "rake 'brew:cask[puppet-bolt]'"
Verify Casks/puppet-bolt.rb was updated to the correct version
Put up a PR to homebrew-puppet and request review

question for Maggie Dreyer and Josh Cooper, with filebucket, we explicitely wanted to only hit one server, effectively fully negating and HA efforts by the agent. Is this initial setup something we also want to explicitely enforce this behavior with? ie only every try for the first server in the list, rather than trying to find a functional and available server to get the initial cert from

A user resource configured with forcelocal will still try to sync the comment with the external directory services. It does use the `lusermod` to modify the local `/etc/passwd` to the comment specified in the user resource, but it compares the `in_sync` with the external directory services, meaning that it always updates the comment on catalog compilation. Reproduction: 1. Configure an agent with LDAP 2. Ensure nsswitch.conf has LDAP before `files` for `passwd` 3. Add a user to LDAP with a comment. Below is an example user.

 testuser:*:510:10:test:/home/test:/bin/bash

While running puppet inside a container I noticed that the hostname overlayfs mountpoints are not being picked up by facter. Looking through the code it appears that only physical and tmpfs mounts are currently being loaded into the mountpoint facts ([https://github.com/puppetlabs/facter/blob/master/lib/src/facts/linux/filesystem_resolver.cc#L79-L82 |https://github.com/puppetlabs/facter/blob/master/lib/src/facts/linux/filesystem_resolver.cc#L79-L82 ]). For me, the expected return for the mountpoint facts are all mount points, not just physical or tmpfs mounts. It appears that others have a similar desire ( [ FACT-1519 |https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/FAC-1519] ). Is it possible to remove this check? It was necessary when the partition data was populated within the filesystem_resolver::collect_mountpoint_data function, but it has been since moved to a separate function and is no longer necessary. This was also the original suggestion for   [ FACT-1418 |https://tickets . puppetlabs.com/browse/FACT-1482?focusedCommentId=333954=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#comment-333954].

Sebastian Miclea I notice that the fix version on this keeps changing. Do you know what the final fix versions might be, or when they'll be nailed down? I don't want to update docs until we're sure what versions need updates.

Reporter:

This case is being raised on behalf of a customer. This was found on version 2018.1.7 and replicated on 2018.1.8. Unable to use puppetdb json logging ( https://puppet.com/docs/puppetdb/5.2/logging.html ) as it fails with an error on restart after enabling functionality.  Once replaced '' with '' ( see screenshot puppetdb-logback.png ) The restart of the puppetdb fails and produces the following error  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/fasterxml/jackson/databind/MappingJsonFactory ( see screenshoterror-starting-puppetdb.png ) Removing class="net.logstash.logback.encoder.LoggingEventCompositeJsonEncoder" from the encoder allows puppetdb to start again.

It is probably the relationship validation logic that does this differently than at apply time. (The "invalid relationship" message indicates this - don't think that comes from anywhere else besides the relationship validator).

Puppet Version: 6.0.5-1stretch Puppet Server Version: 6.2.0-1stretch  OS Name/Version: Debian 9 I'm using the lookup function to create a file resource from Hiera data: '/primary':   ensure: 'directory'   mode: '0755'   owner: 'root'   group: 'root'    before: 'Class[nfs]' This results in the following error when the agent runs on the node: "Server Error: Invalid relationship:  File[/primary] { before => Class[nfs] }, because Class[nfs] doesn't seem to be in the catalog". But here's the thing: if the first letter of the class name is capitalized - to be clear, as in Class[Nfs] - the agent run proceeds smoothly.   This is at odds with what happens if I create the file resource explicitly in a manifest.  In that case, it is not necessary to capitalize the class name in the "before =>" attribute. So on the face of it, it seems something is amiss in the Hiera lookup, or parsing, or ... something ... (Incidentally, this happens no matter which class I'm referencing - it's not restricted to the "nfs" (derdanne-nfs module) class.) Stephen Kenny
