Acceptance Criteria:
That a global hiera 3 configuration continues to work as it does now, albeit controlled by the new lookup logic. The following must be asserted:* yaml and json backends will be automatically rerouted to data_hash functions.* other backends will be rerouted to a function that calls existing Hiera 3 backends.* {{merge_behavior}} and {{deep_merge}} options found in the configuration are considered.* the scope used for interpolation is a Hiera v3 scope (provides _calling_class_, _calling_class_path_, _calling_module_, and _module_name_).* covered in PUP-7018* the lookup explainer outputs detailed information about global lookups.

Title: Message Title Eric Thompson commented on PUP-6980 Re: Make the new lookup logic understand Hiera v3 configurations Henrik Lindberg, Thomas Hallgren, Lindsey Smith this is great! i see good warnings on using hiera version 3 configs as deprecated should there be similar warnings on version 4? the spec tests on this are extensive. the PR updates the acceptance for lookup_cmd by updating it's assertions on output. the acceptance hole i see are more or less ensuring config files and data files get read and used properly. otherwise it feels like it's well covered by unit tests. I'd typically think we shouldn't acceptance test this at all, it's a deprecated feature, but this is more about migration and upgrades, so maybe it deserves a bit of coverage. thoughts? also, can one put a v3 config file in an environment/module and use it? or is v3 only supported/deprecated for global lookups?
