Just a quick update to let everyone know how I solved this issue. It turns out one of the previous backup attempts left some corrupt files on the backup target. Once I manually deleted those, the backup worked perfectly. Hi, There is one step to Update repository and system by running: apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade My solution is just replace this step's commands with following : apt-get clean apt-get update aptitude safe-upgrade --full-resolver And then go on with proxmox how-to instructions.
