[Python-Dev] Generated code in test_ast.py

2006-03-08 Thread Grant Olson
I’m finishing up a patch for bug 1441408. I had to change the asdl definitions
which in turn caused a failure in test_ast.py. A comment in the file indicates
that EVERYTHING BELOW IS GENERATED # and has a definition for Slice()
that is no longer valid. Can anyone tell me how this is generated? Should it be
automatically generated when I run asdl_c.py?

I'm developing on Windows. I know in the past some of the autogenerated code
from the ast-branch worked better via make. Would this have fixed itself on a
linux box, or is this a manual process?

P.S. Originally sent this on Monday, still waiting moderator approval. Thought
I'd give gmane a try.

[Python-Dev] Mail.python.org

2005-04-04 Thread Grant Olson
Not a big deal, but I noticed that https://mail.python.org/ is live and
shows a generic Welcome to your new home in cyberspace! message. One of
the webmasters may want to automatically redirect to http://mail.python.org.

RE: [Python-Dev] [AST] Procedure for AST Branch patches

2005-03-20 Thread Grant Olson

Make sure AST is used in the subject line; e.g., [AST] at
 the beginning.
 Unfortunately the AST group is only available for patches;
not listed for bug reports (don't know why; can this be fixed?).

Other than that, just assign it to me since I will most
likely be doing AST work in the near future.

Brett,

I sent a few outstanding ones your way. I hate to complain again, I know
everyone involved are volunteers, etc, etc; but it'd be really nice if
someone could take a look at '[ 742621 ] ast-branch: msvc project sync'.
The patch is almost two years old now, has been updated for VC7.1 and still
hasn't been checked in. Without this, any Windows developers who check out
the ast-branch will experience a broken build.
