Indeed. Having spent efforts to persuade the community that 3.0 isn't
intended to replace 2.6 for production use it would be a shame to have
docs.python.org counteract that.

[Python-Dev] Release blocker with no assignee (now me)

2008-09-22 Thread skip
Can someone comment on this ticket?

http://bugs.python.org/issue3666

It's marked as a release blocker for 3.0. I added a patch then refined it
based on a comment by Christian Heimes. It was unassigned. I just took it
and will apply the patch if it gets a thumbs up from another developer.

[Python-Dev] Status of dictnotes.txt?

2008-09-22 Thread Brendan O'Connor
Hi everyone,

I was enjoying reading Raymond Hettinger's Objects/dictnotes.txt, and
was wondering, which (if any) of its suggestions implemented? I see
most of it was written back in 2003.

Thanks,
Brendan

If I remember correctly (and based on a skimming of dictnotes.txt),
those aren't suggestions, it is documentation about the actual
implementation and why those decisions were made.
