[Python-modules-team] Bug#892252: src:python-bleach: URI values with character entities not properly sanitized

2018-03-06 Thread Scott Kitterman
Package: src:python-bleach
Version: 2.1.2-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream, security

Version 2.1.3 (March 5th, 2018)
---

**Security fixes**

* Attributes that have URI values weren't properly sanitized if the
values contained character entities. Using character entities, it
was possible to construct a URI value with a scheme that was not
allowed that would slide through unsanitized.

This security issue was introduced in Bleach 2.1. Anyone using
Bleach 2.1 is highly encouraged to upgrade.

I personally think this is a bug in GCJ. OpenJDK puts them in the
$(OPENJDK_TARGET_OS) subdirectory[0] (except Windows uses win32 and macOS uses
darwin), so if it were ported to the Hurd it would presumably use either "gnu"
or "hurd" as the subdirectory name. FreeBSD's fork of OpenJDK uses "freebsd"
for the directory name[1], but GCJ also puts the files in "linux" there[2]. I
guess GCJ should be patched (and the Hurd porters should decide on a directory
name to use).

Regards,
James

Builds of python-jpype for hurd-i386 (admittedly not a release
architecture) have been failing, as most recently seen in [1]:

setup.py:91: UserWarning: Your platform is not being handled explicitly. It
may work or not!
" It may work or not!", UserWarning)
  Traceback (most recent call last):
File "setup.py", line 95, in
  [os.path.join(java_home, 'include', jni_md_platform)]
NameError: name 'jni_md_platform' is not defined

Per [2], the appropriate directory name here appears to be linux(!).
Also, sys.platform starts with "gnu" on the Hurd.

Could you please take a look?

Thanks!

This is just how the build ends, not necessarily the relevant part.

I've put several build logs here:

https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/build-logs/urwid/

If this is really a bug in one of the build-depends, please use reassign and
affects,
so that this is still visible in the page for this package.

The bug should be reproducible with sbuild on a single CPU virtual machine,
provided you try enough times (as the failure happens randomly).

Thanks.

Package: reportbug
Version: 6.4.4

Dear Maintainer,

I wanted to report missing dependencies for the pdfannotextractor script
included in texlive-latex-extra. For the record, I assume the missing
dependencies of texlive-latex-extra to be libfile-which-perl and libpdfbox-java.

I did use the reportbug urwid interface, selecting “submit more information”
when viewing bug report 611298 with the title “texlive-latex-extra: In pax:
pdfannotextractor requires libfile-which-perl”.

The program crashed. I expected it to show me some editor to input more
information about the bug I encountered.

[Python-modules-team] Configuration Management Standard Requirements: From $249 For $99 - TODAY ONLY

2018-03-06 Thread The Art of Service
Title: CM Configuration Management Standard Requirements

			Trouble viewing this email?

			Configuration Management Standard Requirements

			7 Sample Requirements:

Is an asset management process(es) in place to inventory and manage this new asset (investment) from a property management perspective, to provide Configuration Management support, and to monitor system performance?

If a customer complains that service levels are below those agreed in the sla, apparently due to a number of related hardware incidents, who is responsible for ensuring the cause is investigated?

Are physical configuration assessments conducted to determine the degree of agreement between the current physical configuration and the configuration depicted in the facility documentation?

What percentage of user PCs and servers are included in a centralized software inventory/CMDB (configuration management database); which is populated by a software tracking tool?

Have the cis and the exact version or revision that constitutes a particular baseline (documents, source code, problem reports and change documents) been identified?

How do you do keep current with a continuously changing codeline, and also make progress without being distracted by your environment changing out from under you?

Has the organization established a security configuration management program that is consistent with FISMA requirements, OMB policy, and applicable NIST guidelines?

WHY OWN THE CM CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SELF-ASSESSMENT?

The CM Configuration Management Self-Assessment will make you a CM Configuration Management expert by:

			SELF-ASSESSMENT JUSTIFICATION AND APPROVAL TOOLS:

Purchasing a The Art of Service Self Assessment will spur new ideas, fast track project strategy and advance your professional skills. We’ve developed a set of criteria that will aid in gaining approval and give you the ability to validate and review your Self-Assessment investment:

Excluding hired consultants and advisors from top management consulting firms, internal CM Configuration Management Self-Assessment work is typically undertaken by senior level positions with titles such as Enterprise Architect, Business Process Architects, Business Process Re-engineering Specialists and Business Architects.

Statistics according to Glassdoor and Indeed tell these positions receive an average basic pay of $125,000. Daily rates of basic pay are computed by dividing an employee's annual pay by 260 days. The daily salary is then derived by dividing the annual salary of $125,000 by 260 days = a daily rate of $480.

Top management consulting firms start at $2,000 a day, with rates typically charged up to 40 hours per week.

For a fraction of this the Self-Assessment will make you

a CM Configuration Management domain authority.

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has included The Art of Service's Cyber Security Self Assessment on their Framework Industry Resources list since The Art of Service's Self Assessment is deemed qualified, accurate and comprehensive as a Guidance that Incorporates the Framework:

Hello, I hope you are well.

My name is Carol Marshall and I work for a Search Marketing company in
Sydney, Australia.

I was doing some research on your industry and I landed on your website.
Thing is i had a look at some of the other businesses who are currently
ranked on Page 1 and I truly believe you have a better website and a better
brand.

Long story short, I have created an 18-Page WebsiteAudit which addresses
all of the technical and web errors on your website that is stopping you
from ranking on PAGE 1…

I am happy to send you this report forFREE.

All I want is the opportunity to call you and discuss THE WEBSITE AUDIT in
greater detail.

What do you think?

Kind Regards,

[Python-modules-team] Bug#892198: Include QtCharts support via PyQtCharts5.9

2018-03-06 Thread Nicholas H.Tollervey
Package: python3-pyqt5
Version: 5.9.2+dfsg-1

Hi, would it be possible to include, either as a patch or as an
additional package PyQtCharts
(https://pypi.python.org/pypi/PyQtChart/5.9) for PyQt5.9?

I try to use Python3 projects that use QtCharts and I get an import
error when Python hits something like this line:

from PyQt5.QtChart import QChart, QLineSeries, QChartView, QValueAxis

Thanks!

[Python-modules-team] Bug#892162: python3-motor: Fails to import

2018-03-06 Thread Salvo Tomaselli
Package: python3-motor
Version: 1.2.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I had just started the tutorial for this module
http://motor.readthedocs.io/en/stable/tutorial-asyncio.html

and started with the initial import:

import motor.motor_asyncio

which fails.

In [2]: import motor.motor_asyncio

So as it is, this module is completely useless.

I suppose it depends on a different version of pymongo than
what is currently in the archive…

Best.

Hi,

the following vulnerability was published for pycryptodome.

CVE-2018-6594[0]:
| lib/Crypto/PublicKey/ElGamal.py in PyCrypto through 2.6.1 generates
| weak ElGamal key parameters, which allows attackers to obtain
| sensitive information by reading ciphertext data (i.e., it does not
| have semantic security in face of a ciphertext-only attack). The
| Decisional Diffie-Hellman (DDH) assumption does not hold for
| PyCrypto's ElGamal implementation.

If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.
