TASK DESCRIPTION Dear WMF, While using replace.py a character (or set of character) can be searched and replaced by another character (or a set of character). For example, XXX can be searched in wiki pages and replaced with YYY. In case of a scenario where after searching for XXX if it has to be replaced by YYY in someplaces and ZZZ in other places, there is no option currently. It would be highly helpful if such option is added to the replace.py program. But while attempting to make a complete search of dump of the wiki, it was not searching. It would be nice if we could do a complete search of the dump and export the results to a text file or something similar. TASK DESCRIPTION `ez_setup.py` comes from setuptools (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/setuptools), but pywikibot-core has a very old version. As it isnt part of pywikibot, only a known version of this file from upstream should be copied into the pywikibot repository, irrespective of whatever problems it has. i.e. we should not maintain our own fork of this. In I08f02ba7f4c6d7, an attempt to sync it with setuptools v19.1.1 was rejected as the setuptools code is not as pep8 clean as the rest of the pywikibot codebase. The upstream source is now the setuptools 'bootstrap' branch at https://github.com/pypa/setuptools/tree/bootstrap - i.e. https://github.com/pypa/setuptools/blob/bootstrap/ez_setup.py I08f02ba7 could be refreshed with the latest ez_setup.py , if it will address Xqt's -1 vote.
