[Qgis-developer] Final Logo Pick

2013-05-14 Thread Nathan Woodrow
Hey all,

There is now a poll on the logo site
http://99designs.com.au/logo-design/vote-aqu952.

We need to pick a design that we like, or at least something that would
like to extend further.

Please vote and leave any comments.

At the moment we only have 2 days. I will ask for a few more days, but act
like we only have two days.

P.S Sorry I would have done this early I have just been busy with work and
uni.

Regards,
Nathan

Re: [Qgis-developer] Final Logo Pick

2013-05-14 Thread Nathan Woodrow
Remember everyone you are also voting for something that should look good
as a icon, not just a logo.

There are now two polls:

http://99designs.com.au/logo-design/contests/qgis-needs-logo-210397/poll/aqu952

http://99designs.com.au/logo-design/contests/qgis-needs-logo-210397/poll/ls2bf1

I have to run the second poll in order even out the playing field as I
missed some of Larry's in the pick and the ones I did where not a fair
comparison. As I can't not close a poll (I have requested it from
the company but not word yet), or edit a poll (which is really dumb and
makes this harder for me) I have to run two.

Regards,
Nathan

Is there still a possibility to keep the the present logo? If so, I'd allow to
vote for it too (if not in the pool, at least here on the ml). IMHO none of
them is really worth the change - I'd rather cancel the competition and hire a
good proffesional designer.

has the picks from the first. The green background ones in the first
have low votes so they are removed.

[Qgis-developer] Raster drawing style always set to single band gray

2013-05-14 Thread Alexander Bruy
Hi all,

seems something broken in raster subsystem. Method drawingStyle() of
QgsRasterLayer class always returns 1 despite which rendering style
is set via properties or qml file.

Steps to reproduce:
 1. load singleband gray raster
 2. open layer properties and in Style tab set Render type to
Singleband pseudocolor
 3. add several classes and assign colors for them, apply changes
 4. close layer properties
 5. open Python console and run next code (raster layer should be
active):

l = iface.mapCanvas().currentLayer()
l.drawingStyle()

This always returns value 1, but for Singleband pseudocolor it
must be 2.

Should I file ticket?

You can use both the delimited text or the OGR providers. In my
experience, the delimited text plugin is more flexible (for example,
you can exclude lines at the beginning of the file) but it has some
issues in QGIS 1.8 (see http://hub.qgis.org/issues/7493)

As Benoît said you should check the cookbook. Also, you might find
useful the examples I've included in issue 7493.

Re: [Qgis-developer] changing srs.db with coordinate system updater Plugin

2013-05-14 Thread Otto Dassau
Hi,

together with Diethard Jansen we found that the plugin we wrote seems to
work. But if we use the plugin and the crs is updated in srs.db the new
parameters are not used. But the parameters are used, if I create a user
defined crs.

Maybe I am missing something? Does QGIS save/use crs information somewhere
else?

Any help/information about this is welcome.

The problem is, that the projection according to the new parameters does
not work, although I can see the parameters in QGIS. QGIS still seems to
 use the former parameters.

If I define a user defined projection in QGIS with the new parameters, the
layer is projected with the new parameters.

Does anybody has a solution for this?

 Thanks

Alister,

In Chrome there is a popup when you hover over each start with 1 being the
lowest and 5 the highest. 0 does in indeed mean you don't want to rate.
There really should be a impartial result so that you can say you are on
the fence. Such as life.

Just in case anyone was wondering, 5 means that you really like it, not

And if your browser gives you a choice of 0-5 rather than 1-5, it looks
like 0 means you don't want to rate it, whereas 1 means that you really
 don't like it.

Vote on the second if your are only going to vote once. The second one
has the picks from the first. The green background ones in the first
have low votes so they are removed.

There are now two polls:

 http://99designs.com.au/logo-design/contests/qgis-needs-logo-210397/poll/aqu952

 http://99designs.com.au/logo-design/contests/qgis-needs-logo-210397/poll/ls2bf1

I have to run the second poll in order even out the playing field as
 I
missed some of Larry's in the pick and the ones I did where not a
 fair
comparison. As I can't not close a poll (I have requested it from
 the
company but not word yet), or edit a poll (which is really dumb and
 makes
this harder for me) I have to run two.

Should we be voting on both polls then? How does that work with the
logos which are on both polls?

Re: [Qgis-developer] changing srs.db with coordinate system updater Plugin

2013-05-14 Thread Ziegler Stefan
Hi Otto

As far as I understand if you change an existing crs in the srs.db you have to
change it also in the /usr/share/proj/epsg (.\share\proj\epsg) file. And I had
to delete the existing crs definition in /usr/share/gdal/pcs.csv. Probably you
can change the definition here too (instead of deleting) but since it does not
contain the parameters itself but only the ids of the values I just deleted
them.

Stefan

 Plugin

 Hi,

together with Diethard Jansen we found that the plugin we wrote seems to
 work. But if
we use the plugin and the crs is updated in srs.db the new parameters are not
 used.
But the parameters are used, if I create a user defined crs.

Maybe I am missing something? Does QGIS save/use crs information somewhere
 else?

Any help/information about this is welcome.

 Otto

  Hi,

for QGIS 1.8 I tried to update the srs.db file in
/usr/share/qgis/ressources/ with the coordinate system updater Plugin.
I see the changed crs in tbl_srs and the former original crs is stored
in srids4restore - so the plugin seems to work.

The problem is, that the projection according to the new parameters
does not work, although I can see the parameters in QGIS. QGIS still
seems to use the former parameters.

If I define a user defined projection in QGIS with the new parameters,
