Scratch this message. Found section in User Guide that explains setting the directory paths for SAGA, GRASS, etc. in Processing - options and configuration dialog. How silly of me. Installed 2.2 on my Windows 8.1 PC at home using the OSGoe4W installer, and set up the R, LiDAR, Orfeo Toolbox, and TauDEM tools for use. All works great. Very nice. From: Chrest, David Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2014 5:10 PM To: qgis-u...@lists.osgeo.org; qgis-developer@lists.osgeo.org Subject: Installed 2.2 - Cannot use GRASS, SAGA, OTB tools I uninstalled QGIS 2.0.1 and just installed 2.2 using the Windows standalone installer 64 bit. I now am unable to use any of the 157 GRASS tools. I get the following messages in a Missing dependency window that pops up when I try to use a GRASS tool: Missing dependency. This algorithm cannot be run :-( This algorithm requires GRASS to be run. Unfortunately, it seems that GRASS is not installed in your system, or it is not correctly configured to be used from QGIS. Click here http://docs.qgis.org/2.0/html/en/docs/user_manual/processing/3rdParty.h tml to know more about how to install and configure GRASS to be used with QGIS. So I click the Click here link and just gives me the User Guide home page, which does not help much. The same goes for all the SAGA tools (243), and OTB tools (76). This is a huge loss. Do these not get installed with the Windows standalone installer? Any help in a fix would be greatly appreciated. [Qgis-developer] qlr files gets no extension + general utils
Hi, I'm playing around a little with Nathans 'layer definition files', and it appeared to me that when I do a 'Save as Layer Definition file', and name the file 'bla' (without extension), it is exactly saved like that (without extension .qlr). That makes the file invisible to open via 'Layer/Add from Layer definition file', because 'bla' is not shown to me as there is the .qrl filter. This is off course a pretty common problem, which can be seen in more places and plugins. I've programmed that in my plugins several times too: check for certain extension, if not, add it... Question: is there (or possible to create) some 'utils' function for doing this? Preferably usable both in cpp and QGIS? I've also seen a python 'utils' class somewhere (nhv?). Maybe we could 'centralize' this kind of utils. Another candidate, if I'm not mistaken there is already some 'LineEdit' available which has this nice 'clean input'-brush in it. Is that available for python too? Regards, Richard Duivenvoorde ___ Qgis-developer mailing list Qgis-developer@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer

[Qgis-developer] Missing labels in polygons
This is in QGIS 2.2. When I label a polygon layer, in my case a very simple shapefile of just a few sates, only 2 of the 8 labels appear and the rest are missing. When I go into edit layer mode, I see all labels, then turn off edit mode, and only the same two labels appear. When I zoom so far out that my group of U.S. states are nothing but a dot, the rest of the labels appear. Very strange. I see that this is some kind of logged bug with the new label engine, correct? Is there some kind of fix planned since this pretty much causes the inability to label polygons? Thanks for any help that can be provided. ___ Qgis-developer mailing list Qgis-developer@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer

Hi, I'm facing the very same bug. Does it works if you disable on-the-fly simplification in render tab of layer properties?
