In my case, the issue pops up with a simple point layer.

Hi Marco.
It's a pity to miss a performance improvement (and I do not want to be blamed
responsible for it ;) ).
Perhaps we can try to debug it during next week? I have a sever where I can
easily
reproduce the issue.
All the best.

It works for me. Unit of the value (attribute value * multiplier)
should be that of project CRS. If the problem becomes clearer, please
report issue to GitHub repository of the plugin.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Paolo,

I have the same issue on Ubuntu 12.04 servers. I discussed this with
Marco Hugentobler and he wasn't able to reproduce the issue on his
machine. My assumption is that it may be a some sort of library issue
and my hope is that this issue will go away once Ubuntu 14.04 is
released with newer qt and graphic libraries.

Here is what I found about the issue:

- - it only happens for purely black and white and purely grayscale output
- - if you have only the slightes bit of color you are fine. It is good
enough to e.g. have a gray or 230,230,229 - which still looks
identical to 230,230,230 - the issue is gone

As a workaround you could undo the commit titled:

Revision 8990b66eed2f00253653e64c0ceb695c08a359b7: WMS server: even
more performant png8 conversion

I would love to see this fixed or gone as well. It is annoying for me
to always have to patch QGIS server after each update.

[Qgis-developer] PyQGIS: how to set "Enable snapping on intersection" option?

Hi,

I'm looking how to programmatically set on or off the snapping option:

"Enable snapping on intersection"

I can't find how! It seems not set in QGIS2.conf

without setting this option the QgsSnapper.snapToBackgroundLayers(...)
method doesn't return snap points.

thank you,

[Qgis-developer] New plugin QuickExport

2014-03-20 Thread kimaidou
Hi all,

3liz has just released the first version of the plugin "Quick Export",
funded by the "Conseil Général des Pyrénées-Atlantiques" (France). It aims
to let the user export the active vector layer to CSV ( I must say TSV :
tab separated values), HTML, PDF and to the default printer, in one click.

Any feedback and contributions welcome !
Version 1.0 is tagged as experimental, waiting for users feedbacks

Re: [Qgis-developer] OL plugin crashes QGIS

2014-03-20 Thread Bob and Deb
I've had the same problems with master. And when I load a project that
has an OL layer, it crashed WGIS too. It even crashes when I uninstall OL
and then load project with an OL layer. So I edited the project file and
removed all references to OL, but that project still crashes QGIS. So I
finally deleted the mapcanvas extent in the project file and now the
project loads fine.

Thanks Piotr, QProcess did the trick.

process.start('dir')
process.waitForFinished()

agreed, snapping to grids is only a part of the story.
you can achieve a part of this by importing/exporting to/from GRASS, but again a
smoother more configurable solution would be preferable.

[Qgis-developer] auto aligning adjoining features

2014-03-20 Thread Zoltan Szecsei

Hi Dev list,
Is anyone aware of a plugin that can:

 * auto-snap (make concurrent) borders between adjoining polygons
   (perhaps also in different map-layers)
(Like topologically aligning cultivated land polygons with river
banks or other adjoining polygon features)

 * auto-snap (make concurrent) polygons borders with line features
   (perhaps also in different map-layers)
(Like topologically aligning cultivated land polygons with road or
   other line features)

 * Drop in vertices at places where features intersect each other
   (perhaps also in different map-layers)
Like a road crossing a field (but not dividing the field into two
pieces), or a bridge feature running on top of a road feature
(placing vertices on the road feature directly under the start &
   endpoints of the bridge line)

It would be cool if this could be automated, with the ability to set
snapping tolerances, and choosing whether to have a master feature set
to move to, or to average the gap between the features (ie: move both
features to the averaged common boundary). The final result must have
identical vertices in both the adjoining features even if they are in
separate maps, and the ability to set a master (aka unmoveable) feature
is critical in case you need to align more than 2 features (eg:
Municipal boundary with cultivated land with road), as you would not
want a previously aligned feature set to "walk" whilst you are aligning
a further feature set to it.

Thanks & chat soon,
Zoltan

Re: [Qgis-developer] Plugin for squaring off area feats

2014-03-20 Thread Zoltan Szecsei

Hi Tim
I haven't used the osm stuff so can't comment on it.
But it is a facility I've had in my proprietry GIS package (Genamap) and
have often used it. One sets up global tolerances and runs it on a
select set of polygons.

If someone does create this as a QGIS plugin, then please make it
batch-run-able and not a "Click on feature to be squared off" facility.

Z
