[Qgis-developer] wrong distance after feature buffer selection in meters, please help

2015-03-13 Thread Julia Philipps

Hello,

I am trying to develop a plugin for QGIS with C++, but my skills are
that of a beginner.
So far I have managed to let the user select a point and make a buffer
around this point, depending what value (in meters) the user chose, to
select other points within this radius. Now I realised, the distance
is false. With the measure tool I measured the distance between the
points, but there are some points missing that should lie in this
radius.

My guess is that I messed up the Crs? I am confused. Could someone help me?
The projects map units are meters. On the fly projection is enabled.
The layer on which the plugin operates has the WGS 48 crs.

Sincerely,

Julia P.

[Qgis-developer] About qgsAffine vector plugin

2015-03-13 Thread Geo DrinX
Hello,

I noticed that qgsAffine plugin appears under Layer menu, instead
of Vector.

I have an italian version of 2.8.1-Wien, but I tested also setting in
English US language, and nothing changes.Plugin version is 1.0.1

Moreover, switching off and on the plugin, it appears duplicated (or more)
in (Layer) menu.

I guess the easiest thing is to remove it from src/providers/CMakeLists.txt

If it's only a deployment thing: you can just remove all the
lib[xxx]provider.so files on the server (after compiling).

We compile all recent libraries (GDAL, GEOS, etc), so we should
compile spatiallite library, too... disabling it on ccmake would be
 nicer :-)
Just checked again.
There's also a dependency on spatialite from qgis_core. More particular,
offline editing makes use of it.

So you will need to introduce some CMake magic to skip this part when
compiling without spatialite.

[Qgis-developer] Recache qgis.org and subpages

Hi
I just got a mail from a GIS administrator. She is a bit confused when I talk

Hi Richard and Alexandre,

The scratch layer is wonderful – but deleted when I close the project (that’s

And Save as Image – forgot that – I like the Clipping tool from windows – and
woul prefer a ‘Copy to Clipboard’

Use my favourite plugin from Boris:

http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/NewMemoryLayer/

activating this one, gives you a 'create new memory layer' in your Layer
menu, where you can then choose point/line/polygon and it will appear as
a layer into your map, and edit with the normal tools.
You can style it as every other layer.

(Also one of my favorite plugins)

Just to remind that that since 2.8, this feature is now core and was called
add new scratch layer, and it's available in the Create Shapefile/Spatialite
Button.

There is another plugin to save the memory layer into the project file.

This one is not a core feature, but works fine with scratch Layers

Hi Lene,

we already did some work on that. Actually the download page:

http://www2.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html

has already 'special headers' telling it expires within one day:

Accept-Ranges bytes

Are they maybe caching the pages theirselves?

Is there something else we can do? Caching guru's please chime in...

Users need to insert the canvas in a mail or a document.

If it is current canvas state that you want to copy, you can use
Project/Save as Image to save the current canvas-view to a png/gif
whatever, which can then be copied into your email.

Myself use external tools to just grab a screenshot, which then can be
put on imgur, email whatever.

IFAICT, also grass help is taken from the web, right?
Wouldn't it be better to take it from local, since the file should be
