you can filter for v.net, 20 commands now, some seem really useful

Yes, thanks; IMHO it would be good to have a deafult style for some alg,
as e.g. GRASS does.

If you made a mistake, check /usr/local/bin/qgis, who knows :)

This is common behavior for all Processing algs: outputs added using QGIS
random styling. You can easily fix it by assigning desired style for algorithm

Subject: [Qgis-developer] Today I almost build QGIS on Linux... but it fails

Hi,
Disclaimer: I'm a long-term Windows user who is learning Linux. And I'm not a
developer so be patient.

Before I pulled a request to master branch I decided this time to build QGIS
and check my changes. I often heard people say "Use Linux; it's so easy to do
that". And while a year (or more) ago I completely fail to understand which
version of tools I should install to do that on Windows (7 or 8), this time it
looks very straightforward.

I followed instructions at
http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qgis/QGIS/master/doc/INSTALL.html

(note that it should be updated as there still is:
- a section entitled Qt4

while its content is all about Qt5 and, Qt4 has nothing to do with QGIS 3 if
I'm not wrong

- a section entitled Qt5

which warns you about using Qt5)

So, I followed these instructions, regardless Qt4 title:

- create the same folders at the same places

- run "ccmake .." indicate the $home/apps folder as destination folder for the
application (CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX)

- run "make"
- and then run "make install", showing many lines that point to my apps dir. I
get a failure due to right access to some folder (I don't know why). So I run
"sudo make install" which went till the end with no failure (that i can see)

But when all this finishes tens of minutes later, my home/apps dir remains
EMPTY. No QGIS to launch!

If someone has an idea where I should investigate thanks very much. Or if you
need me provide more information, let me know...

Thanks,

[Qgis-developer] Most icons not displayed in OS X program menu on master

2016-12-14 Thread Nikolai Bezdna
Hi devs,

I’ve built qgis master on OS X using Homebrew formula from
qgis/homebrew-qgisdev repo (thanks Larry Shaffer). But there are barely any
icons displayed in QGIS program menu (in fact I can only see “Project
properties” and “Raster calculator” icons). Also menu icons are displayed as
png and thus are pixelated on hidpi retina display. The issue with screenshots
was reported here https://github.com/qgis/homebrew-qgisdev/issues/8
 but seems like it’s an
upstream qgis bug.

I’d be happy to test master on OS X with hidpi further as soon as I setup QT
dev environment.
Cheers,

P.S. New logo looks so sleek, 3.0 should be a blast!___

If I try the Bouwvlak layer in 2.14.8 (manually), that works, so I'm not
sure what the issue you got with 2.14 is.

However, when it does not:
* no message is sent to the user
* start and end points are not displayed on the canvas
* the shortest path, if created, does not have a distinctive style;
so it is not easy to understand what happens.
Sorry for appearing critical, I found it great to have this in Processing!
All the best.

I am aware of the issue, I tried increasing tolerance, with no results.
That happened with EPSG:4326; when switching to a metric CRS, it works.
My interpretation is that setting a too high tolerance, easy for degrees
(e.g. 1 degree is huge) makes it impossible to compute the path.
Maybe the user should be warned about this.

So better if I go through all the algs and list those who need it in a
ticket?

oh, I should know about this ;)

I do not see why not, e.g. che chinese postman, etc.

Thanks a lot.
