[QGIS-Developer] Lat Lon Tools - Releasing for QGIS 2 and QGIS 3
I was able to successfully convert Lat Lon Tools to work with QGIS 3. The code for QGIS 2 and 3 are incompatible so is it best to keep two parallel developments going and to keep the release number for the QGIS 2 version at the 0.8.x and start the release number for QGIS 3 at 1.0.0 and continue to release both to the same plugin repo? What is the best practice? Until QGIS 3 is officially released I probably won't release the QGIS 3 plugin as often as the QGIS 2 plugin. I understand it may still be early for coding, unless people @OTB have plans to support OTB6 also on 2.18 (if this is not too complicated). [QGIS-Developer] how to find all features from original data in filtered layer
I have a TimeManager-handled layer, meaning a layer which has a filter on it based on a attribute 'time'. So the layer has a subsetString. Say, the total hour based dataset is 24 hour, so I see 1 hour at a time (using TimeManager) BUT now I want to select all features from the original/whole dataset based on another attribute (usecase: select 1 feature and find others based on the value of one attribute of that feature, and show the count in total set). I tried something like: l=iface.mapCanvas().currentLayer() request = QgsFeatureRequest() request.disableFilter() it = l.getFeatures( request.setFilterExpression( u'"device" = \'NL1212\'' ) ) i=0 for f in it: i += 1 print "{} {}".format(i, f['gml_id']) But still I get just 1 result. Looking into the api I found: layer.dataProvider().featureSource().getFeatures(), but that already has the subsetString set Anybody a clue or workaround (loading the data a second time in a hidden layer??) Hi, I suggest not to rush with releasing and publishing any of the plugins. Please don't forget that QGIS 2.14, 2.16 and 2.18 still have all providers built in. For master I personally don't see any benefits in releasing Processing providers right now. [QGIS-Developer] Postgis loading using COPY instead of INSERTS?
Hi all, I realized that QGIS only loads datasets to Postgres using INSERT commands, which is very slow for big tables, and could propose to use COPY commands with a parameter to choose how many rows are sent in each bulk COPY command. Hi The repo with the plugin already extracted and prepared is in here https://github.com/volaya/qgis-otb-plugin IT hasn't been published in the plugin repo, though. I think the OTB team was ready to take ownership, so if anyone tells me the user name or group that will accept it, i will transfer this. The OTB user days sounds great, but unfortunately, I will not be at home during those days (there is the spanish foss4g on 1-2 june, and i will stay in Spain after that to visit my family). In any case, we can set up a meeting and i can go to meet the OTB team in Toulouse in a different date. Let me know what I can do to move the repo ownership, so we can have the OTB plugin released ASAP About the R provider, we are in the same situation. The plugin is in Alex's github account, but if anyone from the R community wants to take ownership and take care of managing and releasing it, I guess we can move it.
