[QGIS-Developer] Attribute table when using big WFS data source
Hi Devs, A question about technical details of the attribute table: When having some features on your mapcanvas; does QGIS then still have (links to) the attributes somewhere? Or do we really have to refetch the features from the datasource? Context: when connecting to a WFS behind a rather big db, but zoomed in to say a bbox seeing just 10 features, opening the attribute table seems to start to fetch ALL features before showing anything. While I hope, that maybe the attributes are already available. Then we could for example go for a 'second attribute'-table button with which you ask for: show me the attribute table of current viewable features only. Because that is the use-case I often encounter. BUT if it is just not possible, maybe because a wfs-fetch ony retrieves/keeps the geometries and it'a id's then this seems not so easy to implement.
