Hi Jurgen,

thank you for your fast reply and change. Amazing.

I did tests integration in MS Outlook, Gmail Calendar and Thunderbird and
works like a charm so I guess this can work well for the rest apps.

@Nathan you are thinking about the plot roadmap and table schedule in the
sphinx side where is the roadmap. Is this the idea?

Best regards,
João

Re: [QGIS-Developer] [RoadMap] Dates Versions Release Calendar

2020-04-27 Thread João Gaspar
 Hi again,

I did a little search and the QGIS Roadmap from the QGIS website is based
on Google Sheets that is updated and then upload to the website through
python scripting. We can use this Google sheets and try to sync as calendar
events

I've check this if we use the Google Sheets approach:
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Website/blob/master/source/site/getinvolved/development/schedule.inc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOggwSls7xQ - Using google sheets to add
calendar events in a calendar
We need to create a Google Calendar with a name QGIS Roadmap (for example)
and point the Google sheets to this Calendar. Then is necessary to share in
ics format. See ics format export help:
https://support.google.com/calendar/thread/15813833?hl=en

By the other hand based on what Paolo and Angelos said I've check this and
if we adopt the OSGeo nextcloud approach:
https://help.nextcloud.com/t/download-ics-file-by-script/15086/2 (quick
search to see if is compatible with ics export link.)

If I not wrong the open standard calendar is .ics (https://icalendar.org/)
so I guess It useful to have this format to be interoperable with everyone
and create a way to share this data in a graphic plot and/or table as
Nathan suggests.

In terms of permissions to the users, in both approaches, it's necessary to
create a global user with reading permissions to get access to the .ics
file and add to their Calendar's provider. And have a visual look as a
table or graphic plot.

I identify these two approaches base in this little talk if you have more
ideas you're welcome. Please correct me if I said some mistake or don't
consider something that I didn't aware.

Best regards,
João

[QGIS-Developer] [RoadMap] Dates Versions Release Calendar

2020-04-25 Thread João Gaspar
Hi devs,
it is possible or integrate the roadmap of releases in a shared calendar?

The idea is to receive in the Calendar the releases dates through calendar
notifications to easily manager test and deploy QGIS releases

I don't know if this make sense please let me know if I need to clarify
more this subject.
