Hi,
QGIS has the processing tools which function in a similar way to the "Spatial 
Analayst Extension" in ArcGIS (what I suspect you're referring to).

On the main toolbar, click "Processing", then Toolbox. This is where all your 
tools are.

Intanto cosi' e' archiviato in lista, poi se qualcuno volesse verificare
ed integrare queste note, magari le possiamo proporre per i manuali di
Geopapa e di QGIS.

Sono un Geopaparazzi dipendente e lo uso quasi esclusivamente in funzione
(“biunivoca”) di QGIS (solo qualche volta scarico tutto in GoogleEarth,
specie quando devo illustrare il report fotografico di un sopralluogo a
qualche mio collega).

Al momento non posso proprio dedicarmi a fare un lavoro organico e completo
quindi per ora mi limito solo a dare qualche microspot essenziale di
stimolo per chi si volesse cimentarsi in quanto proposto da Paolo.

Esistono due versioni di Geopaparazzi, la versione 3, che gira anche sui SO
Android paleozoici, come quello del mio smartphone, e la 4, molto
implemetata rispetto alla 3 e che gira sui SO Android meno antichi.

*Versione 3*:

l'interoperabilità da QGIS a Geopaparazzi si concretizza e si limita
essenzialmente nell'uso del Plugin QTiles che, con estrema facilità,
permette di creare le tiles della schermata di QGIS, potendo scegliere tra
Canvas extent o Layer extent (io uso solo Canvas extent per non appesantire
troppo il risultato finale). Sembra poco ma è una funzione potentissima. Se
ad esempio ho una vecchia carta geologica fatta a mano o un vecchio
catastale cartaceo e sui quali devo lavorare, ne faccio una scansione, li
importo in QGIS, li georeferenzio, li “spezzetto” in tiles con QTiles e
carico il tutto nello smartphone. Dopodichè in campo accendo Geopaparazzi,
importo con un clic le tiles che mi sono caricato nello smartphone e posso
lavorare su quelle carte con il supporto del gps come se fossero carte
“moderne”.

L'interoperabilità da Geopaparazzi a QGIS può avvenire con o senza
l'ausilio di Plugin. Senza l'ausilio di Plugin basta scaricarsi dallo
smartphone al PC i file KMZ e/o i file CVS e quindi aprirli come vettori in
QGIS. Il metodo è molto spartano ma essenziale e vi assicuro che, con un
poco di pratica e l'uso di eVis, sono riuscito a crearmi delle belle
“presentazioni” in QGIS nelle quali, cliccando su un punto rilevato in
campo, si apriva la foto che proprio li avevo scattato (anche se, come
detto in principio, lo stesso risultato si ottiene più facilmente e più
rapidamente aprendo il KMZ da Google Earth). I Plugin che permettono
l'interoperabilità da Geopaparazzi a QGIS sono essenzialmente (salvo novità
last-minute sempre benvenute) Geopaparazzi Tags Converter (ma che funziona
solo con vecchi PC a 32 bit e non con quelli a 64 bit e che, comunque, fa
poco più di quanto non si possa fare con il metodo “grezzo” che ho
descritto prima) e KMZGeopapaImport che però a me da problemi con python e
che quindi non sono mai riuscito a farlo girare.


*Versione 4*:

l'interoperabilità da QGIS a Geopaparazzi, oltre che all'uso del Plugin
QTiles, si implementa rispetto alla Versione 3 con la sconfinata prateria
di Spatialite. Infatti in Geopaparazzi 4 è possibile importare ed editare i
vettoriali Spatialite creati con QGIS ...il che non è poco, (anche se io
sono ortodosso e ritengo che il GIS va fatto a casa, con QGIS, e in campo,
con Geopaparazzi, ci si va solo per prendere punti, ...visto e considerato
che, alla fin fine, con due punti si prende una linea, con tre o più punti
un poligono, ecc.).

L'interoperabilità da Geopaparazzi a QGIS può avvenire, oltre che con i
metodi descritti per la Versione 3, anche con il Plugin ExportGeopaparazzi,
a mio parere molto buono, (che però funziona solo con la Versione 4 e non
con la 3 perché per funzionare abbisogna dei file *.gpap che la Versione 3
non è capace di crearsi).

Infine, un altra forma “indiretta” di interoperabilità tra QGIS e
Geopaparazzi (anche se, ovviamente, possibile anche con tutti gli altri
gfoss) è quella di scovare tramite il servizio WMS di QGIS le cartografie
disponibili in rete e che ci sono buone per lavorare e quindi, fornendo il
relativo l'URL al Servizio Mapurl di TANTO, loro nel giro di qualche ora,
aggiornano il database delle mappe scaricabili online da Geopaparazzi con
quella da noi segnalata (ultimamente mi sono fatto caricare la CTR della
mia provincia alla scala 1:5000 e devo dire che è proprio una figata
lavorarci con Geopaparazzi)

I opened a feature request when I had the same issue 
(https://hub.qgis.org/issues/13636) but still it has not considered, 
probably due to the priority.
Nevertheless, I think that this improvement (and I add also the 
'overview creation panel' [https://hub.qgis.org/issues/13637]) could 
easily help the user experience with this common operations.

Imane,

Spatial Analyst Extention is a ArcGIS Product to work with Raster Imagery.
In QGIS there is no Extention with that name. Nevertheless, you will find
all similar tools you need in the Raster Menu, and in the Processing
Toolbox.

intendo: secondo me serve una overview di cosa si puo' fare, e quali
sono i vari strumenti per farlo. non credo sia del tutto ovvio, ad uno

Quali problemi? Possono essere legati ai noti problemi fra le varie
versioni di SL?
Sarebbe un peccato essere obbligati a non usare QGIS, perdendo così
l'integrazione, ed obbligando a più passaggi.

Mi trovo a usarlo proprio oggi e spero di produrre qualcosina (almeno lista
plugin). per il caricamento di dati in spatialite ma incontro dei problemi
(random) dopo aver modificato un db spatialite in QGIS sarebbe da usare
solo spatialite gui a quanto senbra.

I'd say: raster output options *and* sensible default (which in most
cases will be DEFLATE, I guess).

Hi,

we have been running QGIS together with PostGIS in a municipal GIS 
(city, some 10 inhabitants) since at least 7 years. We run QGIS 
server on the intranet and, together with QGIS WebClient, on the 
internet [1]. We use LTS QGIS 64bit on Win7, servers are on Ubuntu.


We started with some projects and now have about 30 of them (project = 
data model for a specific purpose), the number is increasing every year. 
We do not have commercial support but build what we need ourselves. I 
can highly recommend the PostGIS data source together with QGIS 
(versatility, speed). For ease of data input I created a plugin [2]. I 
do almost all spatial operations (there are not many unfortunately :) on 
PostGIS. We use PyJasper [3] (JasperReports for Python) for any pdf 
output (reports, data sheets, letters), which - admittedly - is a bit 
tricky.


Bottom line: The combinaton does everything we need (if it doesn't we 
can have it added), users are used to QGIS (did not show them any 
alternatives, though :) and - more important - convinced that it is the 
right tool for their purposes (which means the data models implemented 
can house their informational needs). There are not many large-scale 
plots currently. We lack an easy to use web client for non-GIS staff, as 
most people can not handle a full blown QGIS. QGIS WebClient II will 
hopefully close this gap.
