Re: [Qgis-user] shapefile of Europe

2017-02-01 Per discussione Lee Hachadoorian
Stephen,

I know you already got the answer you need, but I think it is worth
pointing out that the *.gdb folders you started out with are ESRI File
Geodatabases, and that QGIS does work with those. When you open the Add
Vector Layer dialog, you have to set the Source Type to Directory, and then
set the Type dropdown to either OpenFileGDB or ESRI FileGDB.

This is covered extremely briefly in the official documentation:

http://docs.qgis.org/2.14/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/supported_data.html#id3

I describe it in slightly more detail in a lab exercise I use:

https://github.com/temple-geography/census-gis/blob/master/Introduction%20to%20American%20Community%20Survey%20with%20QGIS.md

Is there a wiki or somewhere a list of qgis-based projects for GSoC?
I'd like to propose a QGIS-R mapping interface

I've mentored a couple of projects in the past, would be nice to do another one.

WHERE ord < 4 (o ROWID < 4);

migliore che spero posterai);

Dear All,

It’s that time of the year again!

Applications for Google Summer of Code 2017 are now open for would-be
mentor organizations, and we are in the process of applying on behalf
of OSGeo. At this stage, it is extremely important that we put up a
nice and informative ideas page, that Google will look at in order to
evaluate OSGeo’s application.

*We need your help!*

As previous years, we will create an OSGeo Ideas page, that links to
software communities ideas pages. If you wish to participate, please,
start listing the ideas and the corresponding mentors of your software
community and send us the link to your wiki page latest by February
5th.

And spread the word as much as you can!!

*Please note that from this year we have set up a group email for

[Qgis-user] show vertexes during editing session

2017-02-01 Per discussione Reginald Carlier
Hi,

I was able to snap to the vertexes of the underlying layer thanks to an xml
style that was sent to me by Morgan David. It styled the parcels and showed
every vertex marked by an 'x'.
The 'reshape features' tool didn't work as I wanted. I think I could try
copying one feature from the underlying layer and paste it into my editing
layer?

sbaglio?

Re: [Qgis-user] Selecting Objects from an ESRI file based geodatabase

2017-02-01 Per discussione Tyler Veinot
You could add the layers you need and use the convert to offline project
button to convert the layers to sqlite. I have done this to our file
geodatabases but it doesn't work for Z and ZM features, some field data
types will throw errors that may or may not halt the export. Then you might
be able to use some SQL filters in the database to limit or group certain
layers.

Thank you for your answers! It worked as you suggested. I filtered the
gdb database to the objects that I needed and saved them as shape.file.
Afterwards I could delete the database in the project and work with the
shape file instead with reasonable speed.

Thanks again

Ciao a tutti,

select geom, max(ele), id from layerA
group by id

Qualche spunto?

Re: [Qgis-user] show vertexes during editing session

VertexDisplay.xml

The reshape features tool didn't work for me. I was able to snap to the
underlying layer by styling it with the xml file I have included. I first
added the xml file to the style manager. Then I styled the underlying layer
with the added style.
For creating new features that have the same geometry as the feature of the
underlying layer I think I might try to copy that feature and paste it into
my edit-layer?

Re: [Qgis-user] Selecting Objects from an ESRI file based geodatabase

2017-02-01 Per discussione Tyler Veinot
You can right click a layer and go to filter and enter an expression to
filter out unwanted objects. From there save as will save to a shapefile,
among other other formats, that will only be the items defined by the
filter. You can also use a select expression and in the save as dialog
select save only selected features
Does that help?.

[Qgis-user] Selecting Objects from an ESRI file based geodatabase

2017-02-01 Per discussione Armin Konrad
Hi,

I have opend an ESRI .gdb database (directory) in an qgis project. The mayor .gdbtable-file has a size of about 3.5 GB and contains about 18.000 objects (polygons). It is rather awkward to work with such a database to say the least since I need only 2 to 3 objects at a time.
I wonder, is there a way to select certain objects by filtering and convert them selectively to a shape file or to copy them to a new database?

Thanks you for suggestions.

Re: [Qgis-user] show vertexes during editing session

2017-02-01 Per discussione Reginald Carlier
Hi,

My question was not very clear I guess.
I have a layer with parcels.
I have an other layer with parcels that are suitable as building site.
When I draw features of this layer I want to snap to the parcels layer. I can
do this with automatic tracing.
Every couple of years the parcels shape change, so I have to manualy adjust the
parcels that are suited as building site.
I use the node tool, but I want to visualize the new vertexes of the underlying
parcels features.
I’m also looking for the same functionality as the ‘replace sketch’ menu item
that exists in ArcMap. That function allows to create new features by taking
over the shape of the underlying feature of another layer.

Hi,
Using the automatic
tracing
option, you wouldn't need to visualize them. QGIS will snap to vertices as you
move the mouse close to them.

Hi Reginald,

See Settings --> Options --> Tabs "Digitizing". Perhaps for some reasons the
markes are set to "none".

You can also choose to display markers only for selected polygons.

I don't know about a shortcut to toggle visibility of the markers - sounds
useful.

Afaik the vertexes are always visibile when a dataset is in editing mode .
Almost in 2.16.
Dont ?

Re: [QGIS-it-user] Digest di QGIS-it-user, Volume 15, Numero 38

2017-02-01 Per discussione Andrea Gagna
Ciao a tutti!

Forest).

Ad oggi e' ottimizzato al 60/70% e con maggior Know How e un finanziamento
modesto puo' sfruttare al 100% le sue potenzialita'.
