[Qgis-user] Clone plugin repository

2019-09-26 Per discussione Jerry Ng
Dear All,

I am trying to install the Orfeo Tools in Windows. The menu said:

For Windows, clone qgis-otb-plugin repository to
C:\qgis-plugins\qgis-otb-plugin

git clone https://gitlab.orfeo-toolbox.org/orfeotoolbox/qgis-otb-plugin

But, how can I execute the command "git clone https://gitlab..; ??

Anyone can help, please.

Best Regards,
Jerry

Hi,
what is the version of macOS and which installer did you use?
Maybe same issue as https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/issues/31906?

Grazie,

niente soluzioni duali.

Le idee sono:
a) un monitor grande, 27-32 pollici, in 2K 1440 pixel.
b) una soluzione Ultrawide in 21/9, sempre a risoluzione superiore al FHD

Avete esperienze con QGIS e quest monitor? Consigli?
Grazie mille!

Benvenuto Massimo.

[Qgis-user] No vector menu available - v3.4

2019-09-26 Per discussione Erich Purpur
Hi all-

I've installed QGIS 3.4 on my Mac. I don't have any vector or processing
menu. In the plugins menu under "settings" I have the following:

"The settings on this tab are only applicable for Python Plugins. No python
support detected, thus no settings available".

I do have python 3.6 installed.
I've tried to troubleshoot this problem in the following ways:

-reinstalling QGIS
-Under QGIS > preferences > system, adding the following custom variable
under the environment section:

This is as directed by several StackOverflow threads, etc. But no change.

Is there anything else I am missing?

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS 3.4.12 python error on open plugins list manager

2019-09-26 Per discussione Borys Jurgiel
Not really, except something wrong happens in Python.

The plugin manager window is C++ itself, however, when you click to open it,
it calls that Python function from your first error message to fetch Python
plugins from the repository. When the plugin list is ready, Python calls back
the C++ API to open the window.

Apparently something bad happens in Python when it tries to fetch new plugins.
Are Python plugins generally work for you (hopefully you had some enabled, at
least Processing or DB Manager)? Does the Plugins->Python console seem to
work? Another idea is maybe running QGIS from the command line would give some
debug messages.

[QGIS-it-user] Raster: Reproject, Translate, Export

4326.

é uguale a translate?
Grazie mille

Somehow this was fixed after changing the locale (!) from NL back to

This looks completely impossible to me: there is no locale involved in
the formulas (and no translation of operators!).

Maybe the restart after changing the locale has triggered something else.

Yes, you missed the implementation :)

[Qgis-user] Geodesic Line Simplification

2019-09-26 Per discussione C Hamilton
Are there any geodesic QGIS algorithms that simplify lines? "Simplify" just
uses the projection units of measure. If there isn't I thought I would add
this to the Shape Tools plugin. I could easily implement the
Douglas-Peucker algorithm using geodesic math.

For GPS tracks I also see a need to throw out all points that are less than
a certain distance or less than a certain time interval. I don't see any
simplification algorithms that make use of time. Am I just missing them?

Thanks,

You can have:

v3.8.3 the way you did (to be replaced by v3.10.0 soon)
v3.4.12 from https://qgis.org/ubuntu-ltr bionic main
v2.18.17 from the main Ubuntu repo (removing qgis.org from your sources)

But not several at the same time, unless you use virtual boxes for each.

I've done it! I followed Andre's last piece of advice and modified the
following line in etc/apt/sources.list: deb https://qgis.org/debian bionic
main, changing *debian* to *ubuntu*, and it downloaded Zanzibar instead of
Las Palmas! I still wouldn't know how to install a previous version, so it
would be interesting to know how to do that...

Many thanks to this fantastic community!

Re: [Qgis-user] GeoPackage deadlocks

2019-09-26 Per discussione Andrea Peri
Hi,
Geopackage is an Exchange format. Is not affordable in a multiuser data
entry environment.
This require a dbms like postgres + postfis.

Regards,
Andrea.

[Qgis-user] Unable to install Qgis after Debian Upgrade to buster

2019-09-26 Per discussione Amedeo Fadini
Hi everybody I made a dist-upgradeto debian buster

previously i was using a compiled version of libgdal 2.1 (with ecw) i
manually removed that and installed 2.4 from debian repository, installed
qgis 3.8 from qgs repository and it cant start.

The error says

symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgdal.so.20: undefined symbol: GTIFAllocDefn

In fact inspecting with nm -D the libgdal.so.20 point to libgdal.so.20.0.5
and the GTIF simbol are undefined

These symbols are defined in libgeotiff2 that is amng the dependencies...

Any clue on which version of binaries and should I use and from which
repositories get them?

I have the same issue and the same scenario. Multiple users that trying to
access a the same GeoPackage file located in a server causes QGIS deadlock.

The issue rises also if no geopackage layer are in editing mode, but simply
loaded in one QGIS view.

There is a solution for this behaviour or is this a bug?
