Re: [Qgis-user] Missing Raster Calculator in QGIS 3.34
Hi Lene, raster calculator is not missing, it is still there and the dialog you see is the one you are looking for. This algorithm was ported to C++ earlier this year and the algorithm dialog was unified with the rest of Processing tools. Also there were some other changes aimed to fix several issues which made the raster calculator algorithm unusable in the modeler context. As for the predefined expressions functionality, it was removed as a result of discussion between QGIS developers involved in Processing maintenance. It was not missed or forgotten, it was an intended move. Re: [Qgis-user] processing.run gdal file extension fun
Hi Frank, there is nothing wrong or strange here. First, Processing automatically adds suffixes to the output filenames if wrong or no suffix specified. And second, ".tif" is a standard suffix for TIFF files (whether georeferenced or not). So when you specify filename with wrong ".gtiff" suffix Processing adds correct one and your final filename has double suffix ".gtiff.tif". пн, 6 серп. 2018 о 12:13 Frank Broniewski пише: > > Hi all, > > > > My question is probably more for the devs: I am developing a processing > script to do some work on SRMT elevation scenes. [Qgis-user] Preserving joined fields in Processing outputs
Hi all, and sorry for cross-posting. When cleaning Processing bug queue I found issue [0] about preserving joined fields in Procesing outputs. [Qgis-user] User-contributed scripts/models for Processing
Hi all and sorry for cross-posting, you may have know that we have a GitHub repo with user-contributed scripts and models for Processing [0] and Processing itself provides easy way to download them for further use. This scripts/models may contain bugs or one may want to submit feature request. Unfortunately right now there is no central place for this. So we have two options here: 1. create special category in QGIS bugtracker 2. use GitHub bugtracker Another thing, as this scripts and models (well, the biggest part of them) actually contributed by users, core developers are not responsible to their bugs. But users often think that if they use script/model in QGIS that this is QGIS bug and complain. Maybe we should add a warning/explanation to download dialog? Opinions? Re: [Qgis-user] Intended work-flow for joining table to layer?
2014-08-20 0:34 GMT+03:00 Bernd Vogelgesang bernd.vogelges...@gmx.de: The brilliant Processing Toolbox e.g. produces tons of ... shapefiles. Processing can create output in any GDAL supported vector format for you. All you need is to specify correct format. Also Processing can create memory layers. Shapefiles is just default option, as almost all GIS software can work with them, so one can easy reuse results in another program. Re: [Qgis-user] Intended work-flow for joining table to layer?
Hi Bernd, 2014-08-20 12:02 GMT+03:00 Bernd Vogelgesang bernd.vogelges...@gmx.de: what format other than the standard shp format could be proposed then for e.g. for the Processing output (GRASS and SAGA functions seem not to support memory layer)? Any GDAL-supported format. E.g. SQLite, GML, KML, DXF, GeoJSON etc. And it does not seem to be possible to change the default save option from shp to sth else permanently for the toolbox? Right, currently there is no way to set default output format. But this can be added I think. The charm of Processing is that you can quickly do a lot of trial-and-error-runs on datasets without having to care where the data ends up cause its temporary anyway. Hmm, for trial-and-error-runs shapefile IMO is ok. As I understand the problem is not in Processing algs, but in join functionality from core. -- Alexander Bruy ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Re: [Qgis-user] [Qgis-developer] Stress about release plans
+ 1 to Otto and Victor. Developers should develop, the can document some aspects of code/feature (and they already do this!) but we can not ask them to write manuals 2014-07-22 13:01 GMT+03:00 Victor Olaya vola...@gmail.com: +1 to what Otto said. Very good point. Those creating training materials should coordinate and help the core QGIS documentation (both the manual and the training manual) improve. The solution is very simple: Require up to date, accurate documentation for all commits of new features. This is one for the PSC. After all, what's the point in having tons of features if no-one knows how to use them or what they do? Will it slow down new feature feature commit? Probably, but I figure that's a small price to pay for actually having documentation. And from that documentation, universal training materials can be developed much more easily. -1 from me. Features are also documented by people using them, not just by the devs. We like to say that you can contribute to open source projects not just by coding, but if we do that, I don't think we are going to get many contributions from users, leaving the documentation to be written only by developers. I try to keep the Processing documentation up to date, but only documenting the interface itself and the framework, not the algorithms. That's the reason why a large part of algorithms in Processing are not documented. Fortunately, some users have contributed documentation, and they have added descriptions of several algorithms, but the have done that *after* using the (hitherto undocumented) algorithm and becoming familiar with it. No one is going to document something that he cannot use yet. Let's encourage developers to commit features when they are well documented, but let's also give some flexibility, since that's not always going to be possible. my 2 cents Cheers Víctor ___ Qgis-developer mailing list qgis-develo...@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer -- Alexander Bruy ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
